Like always, Madison and I are on the same wavelength. I'm glad that Madison had a chance to meet them, but I have no interest in having it happen again. Ben's parents are... goodness. The way his father doesn't even address her presence in the room except to talk about her in third person as a trophy with his son, the way his mom completely dismisses both of them and really talks at them instead of with them. I can completely understand why they had to go see Eli's parents afterwards, the shift in tone is completely different.
I'm really glad that both of them have other older people in their lives to be good mentors for them. And gosh, when his mom mentioned having kids, my heart... DON'T YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MY BABIES AND THEIR DECISIONS. I LOVE THEM GO AWAY HISS BOO HISS.
Yeah, the reason they were up there was to visit Eli's parents, and that was it, but Maddie was kind of like, well, since we'll be up there... She kind of just wanted to meet Ben's parents, just to see for herself why he didn't really like them and all of that.
Seeing Eli's parents is much happier, and is much more of a celebration. They know Ben, of course, and they've met Maddie before already, so they're happy to see them, and happy that they're married and happy and all of that. As braintwin said when she read this, "now let's go see my REAL parents" XD
"We're just visiting for a little bit. I just wanted to meet your parents, Ben. I mean, we are married now, I want to at least know my in-laws, and let them know me."

The door opens a few moments later, revealing a middle-aged woman in a maid's uniform on the other side.
for a split second i thought they'd caught mr and mrs sutton in the middle of a gross role play scenario and i was terrified

Seeing Eli's parents is much happier, and is much more of a celebration. They know Ben, of course, and they've met Maddie before already, so they're happy to see them, and happy that they're married and happy and all of that. As braintwin said when she read this, "now let's go see my REAL parents" XD
