XD I love Ben/Eli, their friendship gives me warm fuzzies.

And yes, as much as I love writing Han and Eli as a couple, I also love writing the pre-dating stuff, when they're still getting to know each other, obviously crushing on each other, but neither of them is ready to make a move yet. They're just too presh.

"Mom 2. Hey" Ben sounds surprised, and a little confused.

Awwwwwh. my best friend from high school had my mom saved in her phone as Mom 2.

"The line of duty? He's been working for the FBI for what, a week now?"
Miriam's smile turns wry. "A week and a half."

"And her face when she saw me down in the basement - I can't get it out of my head."

"I'm just saying -"
"No," Eli says sharply. "Don't talk about her like that, okay?"
Ben's quiet for a moment, taken aback by Eli's sudden irritation, and then says softly, "Jesus, Eli, what happened to her?"

I am particularly in love with this exchange. The way Eli gets protective, and the fact that Ben understands him enough that he knows that's all Eli's doing.... lovely.

"That would require putting on a shirt," Eli murmurs, and then looks down at his pajama bottoms. "And real pants."
"I think you can get by with just a jacket." Miriam pauses, and then adds, "Instead of the shirt, I mean, you'll still need real pants."

I am particularly in love with this exchange. The way Eli gets protective, and the fact that Ben understands him enough that he knows that's all Eli's doing.... lovely.

ALL THE AWARDS for the title, now I see Ben and Eli as Firefly fans, lol, especially Ben because he said that. :D

Hee, they totally could be XD I thought about that when I wrote that bit, and I could see them geeking out together over stuff like Firefly, Ben probably a little more so than Eli XD

XD In my head Ben's parents are a little absentee, not abusive or neglectful or anything, just sort of... not as invested in their son as they should be, but Miri and Adam treat him like he's just their other son, so he's closer to Eli's parents than he is to his own.

Ben is really sweet and Eli is adorable as always and Miram is lovely and I love seeing snippets into this side of the story but then again I love EVERY PART OF THE STORY BECAUSE PERFECT AND GOSH WHY DID YOU MAKE ME REMEMBER HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS STORY I HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE.
