There was this discussion on Tumblr about how cracktastically unrealistic it was to have fanfiction be mentioned in Tv/Movie fanfics (ie, there's a Sherlock fic where John discoveres that people at the Yard ship him and Sherlock and email fanfics to each other) and everybody was agreeing that it's funny and cute, but SERIOUSLY unrealistic

TBH, I did that to the Star Trek world after the Reboot came out. Starfleet is a whole fandom in their world.

I kind of want to write one now. I can just see Tony being all '... well that's neat' and the others all being terribly uncomfortable and confused.
