When Simon found out, he cried out of shock and fear.

When he told his mother, she cried of the shame.

When he told Laurence, however, Laurence cried for a different reason entirely.

“A baby?” Laurence asked for the fifth time, tears brimming in his eyes.

Simon nodded. “Yes, Laurence. Nearly a whole month already.” He whispered, gesturing for Laurence to keep his voice down, as they were meeting out near the training fields mid afternoon to talk.

Laurence just let out a squeak and Simon gasped as tears spilled out down his lover’s cheeks. “Oh, I’m going to be a father!” he cried happily, pulling Simon in his arms to spin around. “Yes!” he cried, putting Simon down to kiss thoroughly. “Oh my love, this is amazing!” he cried, beaming as he hugged the ever tiny Simon.

Simon smacked him and covered his mouth. “SHUT UP!” he hissed, staring in shock. “What, are you actually happy?!” he asked in shock.

Laurence just smiled, holding him. “Oh Simon, we’re going to have a baby, how could I not be?” he asked, leaning in to kiss Simon’s cheek.

Simon pulled away, confused. “Why? What is there to be happy about?” he asked in a small shaky voice.

Laurence frowned. “You’re not happy?” he asked, looking crestfallen.

Simon scoffed. “I’m BARELY twenty-two!” he cried. “My parents are talking about sending me away to a pack with more Adels.” He narrowed his eyes. “IN AMERICA!” he cried. He groaned and walked away, pacing. “God, I’ve dyed my hair since I was a little boy to hide my being a blonde werewolf. We’ve moved every time someone divined there was an Adel in the area! I’ve finally been here for a decent amount of time and I have to go and get pregnant!” he cried. “I’m not married! I’m not married and I’m barely in a real relationship!” he gasped out as tears slid down his cheeks.

Laurence frowned. “What’s this ‘barely in a relationship’ rubbish?” he asked, scoffing. “What would you call us? Friends with more fun? We’ve been mates since you moved here when you were fifteen!” he said. “I mean… we’ve been together for nearly seven months!” he said pointedly. He caught Simon’s hands as he paced by. “How can you say that’s ‘barely’ a relationship?!” he asked, then sighed and let his head drop. “Simon… I love you. With all my heart.” He said, looking into the smaller man’s eyes. “And if you want to get married, fine! We’ll get married tomorrow morning, I don’t care.” He slid his hands to Simon’s sides. “But- but they can’t just ship you off to America!” he said, shaking his head frantically. “This is NOT the olden days when girls who messed up ‘went to visit an ailing aunt’ or something!” he said with a scoff. “Tons of people have babies all the time MUCH younger than you without being married!” he said.

Simon blinked. “You- you would marry me?” he asked, then shook his head. “Wait you love me?” he asked softly, large eyes wider than ever.

Laurence just smiled and leaned down to kiss his forehead. “Of course.” He said softly.

Simon sighed and tilted his chin up to kiss Laurence softly. “I love you too.” He said, shaking his head. He sniffled as tears began to roll down his cheeks. “What do I do, Laurence?” he whimpered, sliding his arms around Laurence’s middle to press his face into his chest and hide his tears.

Laurence just held him close, pressing his face to Simon’s cheek. “Whatever happens, it’s what do ‘we’ do, darling. I’m just as much part of this.” He said, stroking his cheek. “It was a bit irresponsible of us to not just let you take the potion and be alone during the full moon, but it’s all going to be okay.” He said, then beamed. “And I’m happy. I’ve wanted to be a father since I was small. I love children and this is the best news I’ve ever received, even if it’s not the ideal timing.” He said, and Simon giggled wetly into his chest. “Don’t worry.” He said, kissing his head.

“My mum is so ashamed of me, Laurence. She hates you and she’s ashamed of me. She wants to send me to America and I’m thinking it’s not just for my own safety.” He said weakly. “They’re ashamed that their Adel son is pregnant without being married.” He whimpered.

Laurence kissed his temple. “Listen to me, darling. We can get married, but don’t marry me just because you’re pregnant.” He said softly, but seriously. “I don’t want to be that person. I’m willing to marry you because I love you, but if your only reasoning is because you’re pregnant, I’m not going to do it.” He said.

Simon sighed. “Maybe…we should just wait?” he offered. “I mean… God, we’ve only been together seven months.” He said, and Laurence nodded.

“That’s fine. But we have to talk to your parents, because I will not let them send you away.” He said, and Simon nodded.

“Will you come with me?” he asked meekly, and Laurence nodded.

“Of course, my dear.” He said, kissing his lips softly. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.” He said, and Simon just nodded, biting his lip with worry.

Simon and Laurence walked in holding hands, and his parents both got quiet. “Mum?” he started, and he nodded. “Laurence and I would like to talk to you.” He said softly.

“Are you getting married?” his father asked, and Simon sighed.

Laurence just held his hand and sat down, pulling Simon down beside him. “No sir, we’re not.” He said, addressing Simon’s father. “We’ve decided we’ve not been together long enough to get married. And if we do, it won’t be to try and cover up anything.” He said.

Simon’s mother looked at him with a scoff. “Oh no, but its plenty early enough to be pregnant!” she said. “You can sleep with him, but not marry him, that’s nice.” She said, rolling her eyes. “Besides, Simon is going away.” She said.

Laurence raised an eyebrow. “With all due respect, Simon is an adult. He should be able to make his own decisions.” He said. “You shouldn’t be able to SEND him away like that.” He said, then shook his head. “No, you aren’t sending him away anywhere, you just can’t do that to him!” he said.

His mother shot him a look. “Well, he isn’t your child.” She said, and Laurence saw tears on Simon’s face.

“No, but he’s carrying my child.” He said defensively, and both of his parents rolled their eyes. “You can’t just send him away like he’s not a human.” He said.

Simon just sniffled, hating to see his parents and boyfriend fighting. “Mum, Dad… I’m not going anywhere.” He said, looking up. “I- I’m pregnant, not a criminal.” He said.

His father stood and walked to the counter, then came back with an envelope. “That’s your plane ticket. Your bags are already packed.” He said, and Simon looked up in horror. “You’re going to America.” He said, and Simon just looked at his mother, who was biting her lip with tears in her eyes.

“Mummy?” he whimpered and she just shook her head as she started to cry.

“It’s not just out of shame, it’s for your safety, as well.” She said, sniffling. “We- we can’t protect you here!” she said, shaking her head. “You’ve stayed hidden so long, but pregnant, it will be OBVIOUS!” she said, sniffling. “It’s the only way.” She said, and Simon just stared, tears on his face.

Laurence turned to Simon, only Simon jumped up and ran away, crying. “Simon!” he cried, rushing after him. He found Simon crying on his bare bed, as all of his belongings were in boxes around the room. “Oh Simon.” He breathed, walking over. He laid down and curled around Simon, who sobbed out and clung to him. “Oh don’t cry, my angel.” He slid his arms around Simon and held him, whispering to him softly.

“What do I do? I have to go, Laurence! I- I’m going away to America! I- what do I do?” he cried out, shaking. “I’m scared. I’m pregnant and now I may as well have a giant target on me.” He said, whimpering.

Laurence just sighed. “I’m going with you.” He said, closing his eyes as he pressed his face into Simon’s hair. “I’m going with you to America. I can’t let you go alone. You’re in danger alone, and more importantly, you’re the person I love.” He said, kissing the crown of his head. “And most importantly, you’re carrying our baby.” He said, looking down into his eyes. “I could never let you and our baby go so far away all alone.” He said, and Simon just whimpered, then cried harder. “Oh darling, don’t cry, it hurts me to see you like this.” He said, holding him closer, trying to drive away at least some of the pain his lover was feeling.

Simon just sniffled. “I love you.” He sobbed out, nails scrabbling on the material of Laurence’s jacket as he held him tighter, trying to block out reality with his lover’s embrace.

Laurence just sighed. “I love you too, darling.” He said, closing his eyes.

When Laurence and Simon arrived in the terminal, they were met by a large blonde man and a small black haired man, one of which was the only werewolf in the area. Simon was wide eyed as he had never met another Adel before. Laurence was just wary, keeping Simon close to him with one hand on Simon at all times. “You dye your hair?” The blonde man stated as a greeting.

Simon nodded. “Since I was small. I look better this way.” He said, fingering his inky black hair.

The short, darker man looked around. “Okay, there are at least five strange vampires around here, can we please save the chit-chat until we get home?” he asked, and the large Adel nodded.

“Your stuff will be delivered to the compound.” He said. “You two follow me and don’t fall behind. Pete will be right behind us.” He said, and Laurence nodded, shifting the strap of his bag as he took Simon’s hand.

They all rushed through the airport, almost too fast for Simon to keep up with his brain, and all too soon, they were climbing into a black car and the small, dark haired man was jumping into the driver’s seat. “Okay, sorry for that, but we take Adel’s seriously around here.” The blonde man said as he climbed into the passenger seat, turning to look at them in the back. “I’m Bob Toro-Bryar. This is Pete Wentz.” He said. “Our sons are the ones technically in charge of taking you guys in, though they, and you as well, will be living in the home of our clan leader, Gerard Way.” He said.

Laurence frowned. “You’re a vampire.” He said, looking at the dark haired man suspiciously.

“Yeah, I’m Pete. We’re integrated.” He said, and Bob rolled his eyes. “We’re all mixed together in our clan. My husband is an Adel and one of our son’s is an Adel as well. He and Bob’s son, who is also half-vampire, are the ones in charge of you guys, though they live at our compound with my vampire clan.” He said. “It probably seems complicated, but it’s not that bad.” He said.

Bob nodded. “The point is, we have the most Adel’s in one area ever recorded, even if two of us are too old to be fertile anymore. Pete’s son, Casey, is an Adel, and our grandson, Caleb, is an Adel.” He said. “And to add even one more, Pete and his husband adopted an orphaned Adel.” He said. “They have one kid and then someone from our werewolf pack was a single woman who was a bit old to be having any kids and the poor woman died giving birth and didn’t have any other relatives, so there was an Adel newborn with nobody. Patrick heard and automatically took me over and we decided he would be the better to adopt him.” He said. “His name is Jacob.” He said.

Laurence bit his lip. “So, Simon will be safe here, right?” he asked, looking at him.

Bob nodded. “Yeah, we got rid of the dangerous local pack just after our grandkids were born. It’s gotten so peaceful the last few years that we’re allowed to take the kids out, even the Adel’s, just like any other kids.” He said. “They’re still homeschooled and they don’t go anywhere without protection, but there hasn’t been any serious threat in years.” He said.

Pete looked back at a red-light. “So, we weren’t really told why you guys were coming here. Dangerous back home?” he asked.

Simon bit his lip. “Partly that, and partly my parents were hiding the shame.” He said bitterly. Bob raised an eyebrow. Simon sighed, ducking his head. “I’m not married. We’re not married.” He said, gesturing to Laurence. “And we’ve only been together seven months, so we’re not going to get married just because we messed up.” He said and sighed. “My mum cried out of shame when I told her, and she told me they were going to send me away. Then when we went to try and talk her out of it, my father explained it was ‘for my own safety’ since they’ve hidden my being an Adel my whole life.” He said.

Laurence just held his hand. “They mean well, but it is really archaic of them to ship him off like some unwed pregnant girl in the old days.” He said. “As soon as they made it clear he was going to go, like it or not, I packed up and got things squared away to come with him.” He said, kissing Simon’s temple sweetly. Simon just leaned into his chest, sighing.

Bob cringed. “Eh, I can see where the shame comes in.” he said, and Simon looked up, hurt. Laurence glared. “No! I’m not saying that, I’m just saying- my parents hated my husband since we weren’t married until after I was fertile. I didn’t get pregnant for many years, but they were terrified I would get pregnant without being married.” He said.

Pete shrugged. “My daughter got pregnant without being married. They married before the baby was born, but it’s still the same way.” He said, then snorted. “My slutty little son was sleeping with Bob’s son when he was extremely young.” He said, shaking his head. “Those two were married BEFORE Casey was fertile. It’s insane.” He said.

Simon sighed. “I just… I feel so stupid for letting this happen.” He said softly.

Laurence smiled. “I’m just extremely happy about being a father.” He said honestly, beaming at Simon. “I love it already.” He said happily.

Bob smiled. “My husband wanted kids long before we ever had any. I wasn’t ready and he really wanted them.” He cringed. “I lost two pregnancies. I didn’t tell him the first one, but when I lost the second I was upset and told him and it nearly killed him. That’s when we started trying.” He said, smiling.

Pete smiled. “We’re going to have another grandbaby soon! Our kids are expecting another. Casey’s three months now.” He said. “I doubt they’ll be able to have as many as I do, but you never know.” He said.

Laurence smiled. “How many kids do you have?” he asked.

Pete smiled. “Three girls, two boys, and then the boy we’ve adopted.” He said, smiling. “Bob’s got two boys and two girls.” He said, and Bob nodded. “Casey and Davey have two boys, but for some reason it’s more difficult for them to conceive.” He said. “My daughter has one son.” He said.

Bob smiled. “I’ve just got Davey’s kids as grandkids. Neither of my other’s have any. And my youngest is only twelve.” He said. “My daughter got married recently, though.” He said, smiling. “Hopefully she’ll be having kids soon.” He said, then shrugged. “I’m not sure she wants any though, so I may not have more than Davey’s.” he said.

Simon just sighed. “Well, at least I’m not the only one pregnant.” He said, curling into Laurence’s side. Laurence just kissed Simon’s head, holding him comfortingly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Simon was pale and shaking with nervousness as he followed Pete into the house with Laurence holding his hand comfortingly. Bob was behind them, carrying his bag, since Laurence couldn’t carry both while holding his hand.
Simon yelled slightly when someone collided with his middle. “HIDE ME!” A little boy cried, giggling as he squirmed in between Laurence and Simon, ducking under Laurence’s coat. Simon just blinked, and Laurence smiled down at him.
“Nick?” a man with black hair ran down the stairs, looking around. “Nicky, where are you?” he called.
Laurence snickered when the little boy pressed his face into his leg. Bob just laughed. “Brian, he’s over here. Hiding.” He said, and the large man walked over, smiling.
“Sorry about him.” He said, then ducked down and fished the boy out. “GOT YOU!” he cried, and the little boy squealed, kicking and giggling.
“No, daddy!” he cried, squirming as the man, Brian, picked him up and put him over his shoulder, playfully.
He stood up and offered Laurence his hand. “Hey, I’m Brian Haner.” He said and Laurence shook his hand.
“Laurence Rene.” He said, then smiled. “He’s cute.” He said, and Brian smiled.
“He looks like his mommy.” He said, kissing the little boy’s cheek, smiling when he made faces and squirmed away. “He’s hyper because she’s coming home tonight.” He said, smiling. “Come on, Nick, let’s go see if Nana’s heard from mommy.” He said, smiling and laughing when his son waved to everybody as he left.
Pete smiled. “My grandson.” He said, smiling. “And my son-in-law.” He added.
Laurence smiled. “Wasn’t he adorable, Simon?” he asked, and Simon just smiled weakly, looking positively green. Laurence sighed and hugged him, kissing his head.
Bob put a hand on Simon’s back. “Let’s show you to your room, and then you can join us for dinner.” He said, and Simon nodded, taking Laurence’s hand. They went up to the second, and then the third floor. “Brian and Penelope have the third room and Davey and Casey have the first. The second is Aubrey and Caleb’s room. Nick shares with them since it’s a big room. He was going to take your room after Pete’s daughters Janna and Jasmine moved to the other house.” He said, leading them to the last room from the stairs. “We move around more here than you could imagine.” He said, smiling. “We have another house next door. That’s where lots of the single guys and girls live.” He said. “My twins live out there as do Janna and Jasmine now. Along with a bunch of single vampires.” He said. “We’re talking about putting on an addition to that house. We already put in a pool and tennis courts in the lot behind the houses. We keep acquiring people and having kids and we’re running out of rooms.” He said.
Laurence smiled as they walked down to the last bedroom. Bob led them in and Laurence smiled at Simon. “See? Large room, lovely window, and plenty of room for a crib when the baby comes.” He said, kissing his temple. “It’s going to be wonderful here, darling.” He said, and Simon just sighed and nodded, going to look out the window.
Bob shot Laurence a sympathetic smile and Laurence just shrugged and waved a hand. Now, do you want to just drop off your things and come have dinner?” he asked, and Simon nodded.
“Yeah, I’m pretty hungry.” He said. “I haven’t eaten in a while. I had some toast last night, but that’s it.” He said.
Bob frowned. “Well that’s not good for your baby at all. Come on and we’ll have you fed.” He said, smiling.
Laurence just kissed his cheek and leaned close. “I know you’re scared darling, but I’m right here. And these people all want to help you.” He said, and Simon nodded bravely, tucking himself into Laurence’s side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bob led their newest housemates into the kitchen and everybody looked up. “Guys, this is Laurence, and this is Simon. Our newest residence.” He said, smiling at them as he went to take a seat beside a man with bushy hair. “Guys, this is my husband, Ray.” He said, smiling at the bushy haired guy.

Laurence smiled. “Hello. I’m Laurence, he’s Simon.” He said, and a man at the head of the table smiled.

“Hello boys. I’m Gerard Way, I’m the leader of this clan… er… well one of the clan’s represented here.” He said, and everybody laughed. “Please, sit down.” He said, and Simon looked and headed for two empty chairs halfway down the table. “I hope you guys like it here.” He said, and Laurence smiled. “It’s a lovely house.” He said, and Simon looked up.

“It’s a huge house.” He said, and Laurence nodded.

A blonde man across from them looked at them both. “Simon, you dye your hair.” He said, not really asking.

Simon nodded. “My mum started dying it when I was small to try and hide what I am. He wiggle uncomfortably. “I guess going and getting knocked up kind of ruined that, and here I am.” He said, shrugging, only to take the dish being passed and scoop out some of the peas in it onto the plate in front of him. “God, I haven’t eaten in ages.” He said softly.

Laurence just rolled his eyes. “I told you to eat.” He said, and Simon made a face as he passed him the dish.

The blond man smiled. “This your husband?” he asked, and Simon looked down and bit his lip.

Laurence just kissed his temple lovingly. “We’re not married.” He said.

The man they met already just smiled at them. “Hey, that’s not anything to worry about, dude.” He said, smiling as his son tried to poke him in the face. “Me and my wife weren’t married when we found out about this little monster.” He said, pretending to snap at his son’s fingers, earning a loud squeal from the little boy.

Simon smiled. “Yeah, we heard.” He said. He smiled. “I just… its sort of half the reason my mum and dad sent me away. Half to protect me and half from the shame of having an Adel son pregnant out of wedlock.” He said, shrugging. He took a piece of ham off of the dish passed to him. “And I just… I hate being reminded.” He said.

Bob smiled. “As you’ve probably worked out, that’s Casey.” He said, nodding to the man who that had just spoken. “His husband is my son, who isn’t here right now.” He said. “Where is he, Casey?” he asked.

Casey snorted. “He and the boys are getting cleaned up. They were out back playing.” He said, smiling. “I’ve got two boys that are five.” He said, smiling.

A small, golden haired guy down the table smiled. “And he’s working on baby number three!” he said, beaming.

Bob smiled. “That’s Patrick, Casey’s mom.” He said. “Pete’s husband.” He said, and Pete nodded, wiggling his eyebrows.

“At fifty-one, you’d never believe how much of an animal in the sack he is.” Pete said, only to duck when the short werewolf started to try and slap him.

Bob snorted. “The sad thing is its true.” He said, and Casey groaned, shaking his head.

Brian looked up. “Uh, small child here!” he said, handing the little boy a carrot.

Gerard sighed. “Not everybody is here, and not everybody is coming.” He said, and then he turned to the side. “This is Gabe, he’s the leader of the other vampire clan represented here. The geek beside him is my little brother, and Gabe is his slut.” He said, and the Hispanic guy smirked.

“Why? You jealous I’m his slut, not yours?” he asked.

“No, cause his slut is THE slut.” Simon looked up as a man just as small as himself walked along the table. “Hi new guys, I’m Frank, Gerard’s husband.” He said, flopping heavily in the long haired man’s lap. “Hello, baby.” He said, kissing him obnoxiously, earning groans from all around.

Gabe smiled. “That one beside you is my best buddy and second in command, Travis McCoy, his husband is out partying with their little group.” He said. “Ryan, William, and Spencer all like to go party together, even if they all fight all the time.” He said.

Travis snorted. “You wouldn’t believe how much they fight. Ryan and William have been best friends since they were kids and Spencer is my fledgling. Ryan and Spencer DO NOT get along.” He said, cringing. “They do, they’re the best of friends, but they fight for my attention.” He said, smiling vacantly.

A little dude down the table snorted. “Yeah, I’m lucky to get my husband’s attention because he doesn’t have t fight for it so it isn’t as fun for him.” He said. “I’m Andy Hurley, Spencer’s my husband.” He said. “William’s husband, Brendon, is out with Davey and the boys.” He said.

Bob nodded. “And it’s a Saturday night so all the single guys are out partying.” He said. “We go sometimes but we knew you were coming.” He said. “Sophie and Jordan, my daughter and her husband, they’re out too.” He said.

A tall man who looked extraordinarily like the Bob’s husband walked in, carrying a small boy while two other boys ran in after him. Bob smiled. “That’s my son, Davey, and two of those are my grandsons.” He said, smiling

The man sat down and smiled when he spotted them. “Oh! Hi, I’m Davey.” He said, then passed the small boy up the table.

“Mama!” the little boy said, reaching out for the one they had called Patrick.

Casey smiled when two boys ran over, both climbing into the empty chairs beside him. “Mommy, Aubrey tried to throw dirt on Jacob!” the little blond boy cried and the red haired on turned and shoved him.

“Shut up, Caleb!” he whined, inciting a small slap fight.

Casey reached over and put a hand between them. “BOYS!” he snapped and they stopped, turning to flash big blue eyes at him. He just rolled his eyes. “Stop fighting.” He said, and they both huffed.

Simon bit his lip. “Is- is he an Adel?” Simon asked looking at the small boy with long, loose curled blonde hair.

Davey smiled and nodded. “Yep. He and his brother nearly killed their poor mommy, because Adel’s are born small but fully developed at seven months, so Aubrey was huge and you can’t know if it’s going to be an Adel or not, so Casey was on bed rest and then randomly went into labor and it scared me to death.” He said, sliding his hand into his husband’s on the table.

Laurence looked up. “Pete said you guys have been married a while. You’ve only had one pregnancy?” he asked.

Casey beamed. “Well, we’re on number two now.” He said, and Simon smiled.

“Well, at least I’m not alone here.” He said, smiling. “Though it is kind of shocking. I mean, I wasn’t taking any potion, but in seven full moons with…” he looked at the small boys. “With protection, I still managed to get knocked up.” He said.

Davey just smiled at Casey, who bit his lip. Casey sighed. “We have trouble conceiving. We tried for two years before I managed to get pregnant with the boys. And we’ve been trying for three years for this one.” He said sadly. “Nobody knows if we’ll ever manage to conceive again after this one.” He said.

Davey smiled. “I’m hoping for a girl.” He said with a smile as he kissed his husband’s face.

Patrick laughed. “All we had were girls all over and now we have more boys than we know what to do with.” He said, smiling. “I had three girls before I had Casey, then much later I had another boy. Bob had two boys and a girl then had another girl just days after I had my last boy.” He said. He smiled. “Now we’ve got two five year old boys, a four year old boy, and little Jacob here.” He said, kissing the baby’s fuzzy brown hair as he held up a pea for Pete, who ate it out of his hand, smiling.

Simon just stared at the baby half the night, watching the toddler babbling in small, short sentences to the adults around him.
