Max enters the village

Max revved the engine of the Ninja sliding in and out of traffic. It was easy out in Sector Four since everyone was gathered around Terminal City to watch the standoff. She'd taken the motorcycle out the new entrance in the back where the Xs were staying, and under the noses of the government teams.

Ames and the government boys didn't know all the ins and outs of Terminal City and they couldn't watch it twenty-four/seven. Their bad. The sewer systems also allowed Original Cindy, Sketchy, Logan and the others to come and go without Ames watching them. If they thought they could starve out the transgenics they were mistaken. They'd been bred to learn to live on rations and go days without food and water. This was week two of the siege and no one was complaining of being hungry or thirsty.

Max, however, was on a different run. She'd taken a burglary job for the Chinese Clan and was returning with the money. They were all running low, but this stash should last them a while. Her catlike eyes adjusted to take in the surrounding area as she drew closer to Terminal City. SWAT teams were on the rooftops, scopes trained on the fence line, never once noticing the girl on the motorcycle as she drove by. "Idiots."

Xs burned all around the city in protest to the transgenics that were in Seattle. The government still had the media showing them as the 'bad guys' , despite all that Eyes Only was doing to help.

She made a pass close to the barbed wire fence and threw the metal case over the top and into Mole's waiting hands. Not looking to see if he caught it, Max maneuvered the motorcycle toward the ramp. She revved the engine one last time, did a wheelie and rode the bike up and over the fence. Instead of the familiar sights and sounds of Terminal City Max was in a village with cobblestone streets. "What the hell?"

Max slowed the Ninja down and hopped off, walking it toward a building that looked abandoned and putting it inside for safekeeping. She walked to the dirty windows, looking out into the streets for signs of snipers or danger. Not sensing anything, she quietly left the building when a group of people walked by. Silently joining them, but not too close, she began to wander the streets, trying to figure out what the hell had just happened.
