A Winter Wonderland (OTA)

In the park there's a little hill that in the summer is a great place to lay down with a book. Right now though it's covered in deep, crisp white snow, the sort that is perfect for tobogganing. It's the only place in the whole of the village that has suffered from this heavy downfall of snow over-night, which might seem a little suspicious ( Read more... )

Axl had wandered into the park, a little drunk, though it was wearing off quickly thanks to the whole 'god' thing. He really hated that - it wasn't like his powers did anything cool. At least, he couldn't seem to figure out how to do cool things.

When he saw the snow, he approached, wide-eyed. He wasn't exactly wearing the right shoes. His running shoes were getting wet by the second. He looked around smiling. It didn't really snow in Auckland and Axl had always kind of liked the snow. He smiled like a school boy. "This is brilliant!"

Gabriel appears behind the man's left shoulder, although maybe he was hanging around at the top of the hill anyway, and he grins. "It is pretty good, isn't it?"

And a little weird to have only snowed here, right in the perfect spot for sledding. Oh well, nature is really weird sometimes, right?

"Gotta find yourself another pair of sneakers if you want to stay out in this." Gabriel suggested brightly. "Want to borrow some? And a coat?"

After all, there was a little cabin set a way back- the sort that smelt like German sausages and pine. "I'm sure we've got some."

"Uh" He glanced down at his shoes, stepping out of the wet snow with one leg, realizing the guy was right. It was probably a bad thing to stay in wet shoes, right?

"Sure, yeah, that's probably a good idea." He nodded. Forget the fact it was probably a bad idea to go into a cabin - a cabin that wasn't normally there - with some guy who was both a stranger and seemed to pop up out of nowhere.

Gabriel grinned, nodding. "Wet shoes in the snow mean frozen feet pretty soon." He smiles, gesturing the other towards the hut. "What size you need?"

Of course he didn't need to be told. Instead he pulled up a pair of snow boots, warm and dry and put them on the counter top.

"You can have a hot drink too, if you want." There were already some people on the hilltop making snowmen, and a little flurry of snow came down from the near-by trees.
