Christmas Shopping

The weeks leading up to Christmas were always a busy time at the store, even here in Haurvatat. Lana didn't mind being busy and she loved decorating the store each year. Her windows sparkled with crystal snowflakes hung to catch the sun and send rainbows throughout the store, Christmas tunes had finally made the rotation into the background music ( Read more... )

If there was one person who was made for Christmas? It was Randy Hill!

Giving? People being jolly? Santa?! Oh, yeah. That was Randy to a tee.

He was dusting shelves, humming happily to himself. Soon, the depression of not being with his brothers for the holiday would hit him and drag him down, but for the moment? He was a happy camper.

Randy could make anyone happy, Lana thought. Every time she worked with him she was grateful that she'd hired him. She watched him work away, humming as he went and she couldn't help but smile.

When he came closer she waved and smiled. "Don't forget you can stop and have some hot chocolate or mulled cider too."

"I dunno," he said with a wide grin aimed right in Lana's direction. "If I eat any more marshmallows, I might turn into StayPuft!"

She looked at him with a laugh. "With all that exercising you do? You're teasing me now!"

The Dragon needs a gift for her beloved Faramir, and the book shop seems the best choice for something for him. He had, after all, been a librarian here. And is teaching her to read.

The woman with gold paint draped down her skin, in a thin t-shirt and jeans walks into the book shop. Her tail swings behind her curiously and her heels click on the floor as she walks.

Lana was... a little surprised when the woman walked into the store. At least when she saw the tail. Still, this was Haurvatat and stranger things had happened. She smiled at the woman as she made her way over. "Hi there, happy holidays. Is there anything I can help you find?"

Glaurnaneth nods proudly. "I need a book."

For a long moment, she leaves it at that until she realizes that it's a little ... obvious.

"Your human 'Christmas' is coming, and I wish to give a present to Faramir. He was the librarian who gave me a name when we first met, and he is teaching me to read, so I know he likes to read; thus I wish to give him something he will like."

Hopefully that wasn't oversharing too badly... ?

"Oh, that's wonderful," Lana said with a smile. "I'm sure he'll love that. Do you know what kind of books he likes?"

Though if he was a librarian, he probably enjoyed a great many types of books. Lana, herself, would be happy with almost any book she was given.

"I'd be glad to help you find something."

And maybe find a book that the woman would like as well. If she was just learning to read, Lana was all about encouraging that any way she could.
