The fact that Kenzi was gone was hard for Hale to handle. It wasn't like he was with her in the village, but at least she was around and he could see her. Now she was gone and a part of him was, too. Even if Riley wasn't ex-Secret Service, she'd recognize Hale's body language. She'd also been counting his beers from where she sat at a table. When the fifth beer made its appearance, she headed in his direction.

"Hey you, everything all right?"

He glanced up, maybe hoping she was someone else for a moment, before looking back at his beer and nodded slightly. "Yeah. Super." Though his voice did not sound believable at all.

"Yeah I can see that. Look, I know it's none of my business and trust me I am the last person to poke my nose where it isn't wanted but if you want to talk or just have someone to help you get back to the hotel after a good drunk, I'm offering my services." Riley nodded to the bartender to bring her another beer.
