Putting on masks of contentment and peace was hardly a new concept for a vampire over 500 years old. Riley wasn't on duty today for the police department but as an ex-Secret Service you were never off duty. Sam had told her that vampires existed and he and his family were hunters but seeing a whole bar that was supposedly of vampires, was too much for Riley to resist so she stepped inside.

It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the interior lighting and once they did, she couldn't help but notice the man at the end of the bar. He seemed to be as vigilant observer as she was and that brought her curiosity around. She made her way to stand next to him and smiled in greeting as she ordered a beer from the bartender.

He smiles politely in return, sensing that it's pretty clear she's a human--and a newer patron of the vampire bar.

"Hello," he started. "Is this your first time here?" Some people had questions about the morality of the vampires that roamed the place, as if they could just do whatever they wanted. The woman looked confident enough that that wasn't the case, but hey, Stefan wanted to be certain.
