Something else than Opera (tag Catherine, OTA)

I checked yesterday if my favorite gray is available today and was happy to find he is. So when I arrive at the stables I walk straight to his box and slip him a piece of apple. I find it always pays off to get into good standing with your horse before you head out for a ride. He seems pleased and nudges me with his head. "Yeah boy, we'll have a ( Read more... )

Catherine paused in the entryway to the stable seeing Clayton with his horse and smiling. She stepped inside, letting her eyes adjust quickly, "ready for a workout?" Her smile turned to a grin at him, as she headed toward the stallion. She'd been pleasantly surprised when Morgana left the village that her horse had stayed. It seemed like Catherine was a new owner.

Ah, here she is. Apparently we're skipping greetings, which is fine with me. Smiling, I give back, "ready to lose another race?"

Time to get this boy out of his box and saddled. I whisper into his ear as I walk him out of his box and his ear twitches.

“Ha, so you think. How do you know we haven’t been racing and training for this?” She was teasing of course. Catherine walked the black stallion out of his stall and headed to the tack area to get the equipment.

Following her to the tack room offers me a nice view of her backside. Seems fit enough that she might have trained, but she's looked fit the first time I met her, so it's hard to say. It's a nice view one way or another.

"You wouldn't have been racing against me, so how would you know you're good enough to beat me?"

There was a cat and it was missing and unfortunately Jake was the old woman's favourite P.I. in the village. Why he ever agreed to go look for the damn thing, he didn't know. It probably had to do with the fact he was pretty bored. Plus he had heard off-handedly from someone else at the music store that Catherine was heading here at some point today and if Jake happened to run into her, well, that wouldn't be terrible.

He pulled open the door to the stable and make a sucking noise with his lips. "Here kitty, kitty." He had a Newfoundland Accent.

I turn my head at the sound of the door opening, hoping it's Catherine arriving. Instead it's a man calling for his 'kitty'. If there's a cat here, it must be a calm creature, none of the horses seem alarmed.

"Are you sure your cat is in here? I haven't seen one." Of course I've only just arrived myself, it might be asleep in some corner.

"Oh, uh, it's not, -my- cat." Jake gestured to himself. "And the truth is, I have no real idea where it is. I'm just the one the old lady sent looking for it."

And it was an elusive beast.

I take a closer look at the man. I've seen him about the village but that's all I knew - so far.

"You must be one of the village's PI's then?" I know there's a detective agency here. "No better jobs on offer than looking for runaway cats?"
