No Longer in the Shadows (Arrival, OTA)

"He's not my father!" Loki shouted as he turned away from the wall of his cell to face Frigga.

"And am I not your mother?" the Queen of Asgard asked quietly, undisturbed.

It took Loki a long moment to answer. Gathering the will to answer how he wanted, rather than what his heart felt. "No, you are not." It came out softer than he'd intended, less ( Read more... )

Axl was on his way to the pub from his class a the college. He turned the corner, eyes down and head in the clouds. He wasn't looking where he was going.

Loki gets knocked pretty hard and staggers back and out of Axl's path. "You'd best watch where you're going," he warned. A spark of anger in his eyes.

He hadn't been prepared for the connection either and stumbled back a little. Axl immediately looked up apologetic and a little embarrassed.

"Uh.. Sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I was.... kind of lost in thought." The second part of his explanation slowed down as he took in the man before him. He got an extremely weird feeling from this guy. It unsettled him.

"If you can't walk and think at the same time, you'll be safer doing one, and then the other."

Changing the subject Loki asked, "Where are we?"

Whilst out on an evening walk, the tall man caught Draco's eye and actually made him do a double take. Sounded like someone was making quite the fuss from inside the police station, and here was someone looking quite pleased with himself.

He didn't look familiar either. Usually the trouble makers were familiar.

Draco took a sip from his portable tea, and grinned to himself. Interesting.

"Oi," he greeted from across the street, and leisurely made his way over. "I get the feeling you're new here."

[YAY! Loki!! :D]

Loki took in this look and style of the village, and Draco's appearance and cup. Loki smiled and stepped forward.

"If you mean Midgaard -- Earth," he corrected himself, "I've been here before. But never to this particular place."

(ooc: I just had to. :) )

Draco's wide grin had a hint of pity. "This quite far from Earth - or anywhere, really. Welcome to Haurvatat, a small pocket universe where strange is normal and everyone is forced to put up with it. Sorry."

"There are ways in and out of pocket dimensions," Loki said. "If there weren't, how would anyone know about them, let alone live in them?"

"Assuming that wasn't a rhetorical question," Lana said. "You're in the village of Haurvatat."

It was a nice day so she'd been sitting on a nearby bench sketching when she'd heard the man's question and looked up.

"You're quick," Loki said. "Thank you for the name. Where in Midgard is it. Excuse me, that's right, you people call it Earth."

She blinked at his use of the word Midgard, but just filed it away for future reference. "Actually, I'm not entirely sure it's on Earth," she admitted. "They call it a pocket universe, where people from all sorts of different worlds and times arrive. It's a strange place, but not a bad place to live all things considered."

At least when dinosaurs weren't invading.
