No one knew better than Olivia, with the possible exception of Peter, just how dangerous it was to mess with history. The village was out of time, she got that, but there was also a small part of her that worried that what they did affected the history of so many others. How could someone from the 1800s not take back the wonders of technology? ( Read more... )

Krissy knew it was a stupid idea to be out with the dinosaurs, but she had a fascination with them as a child and seeing them up close was pretty cool. She should have expected the village to up its game, but it was only when she saw some young girl, only a few years younger than her, almost get attack, did Krissy realize the village had a problem.

She heard the shots fired and saw the raptor veer to its new target. Krissy caught sight of a second one doubling back on whoever had caught their attention.

Pulling out her own gun, Krissy hurried in the same direction until she saw the blonde woman with gun pointed forward.

"One's flanking you!"

Krissy took a shot at the one charging head on.

Olivia had been about to make a statement about a teenager with a gun but she'd been a very good shot. Anyone brave enough to defend against a dinosaur knew what she was doing. She swallowed the comment.

Instead she turned and took the shot that the girl had warned her about. There was a screech of pain from the animal as her bullet hit it square in the chest.

Krissy was learning quick that dinosaurs seemed to need more than one bullet to die. She thought this was probably a lot like if you were trying to kill an elephant or a rhino.

She shot again and saw the one pursuing raptor fall and skid on the ground. Krissy wasn't sure it was dead, but she'd find out after she passed it to join the woman. Back to the stranger, Krissy kept her gun aimed at the dinosaur on the ground.

Olivia tried to remember what she knew about dinosaurs or even Fringe events that involved animals. "They usually hunt in packs." That wasn't something that she would tell a teenager, but this one could handle herself.

"So keep an eye out for that." At least they didn't fly, but how high could they jump?

Just as Olivia fired a shot, Peter ran out and reached for the girl. "Hurry! Inside!" He heard the shot fire and glanced back to see Olivia. His initial plan was to help the girl inside and stay with her to keep her safe, but now it was just the first part.

Helping the girl inside the back room, he quickly told her to stay there and stay quiet with the doors locked and she should be fine. Locking the door behind him, Peter exited from the alley way toward where he had seen Olivia to see if he can help.

Out of the corner of Olivia's eyes she saw the Peter got the girl safely inside a building. She had faith that he would make sure that she was all right and fired another shot. This one only angered the raptor and it sped up its movements.

"Damn it." Olivia muttered and reached for another clip to insert into her gun as she began to run, taking it (hopefully) away from endangering others.

On his run through the alley, Peter was able to pick up a piece of rebar from the ground. As he saw Olivia run passed reloading, he lifted the rebar up and swung at the raptor sending it flying back. Peter stumbled back from the encounter as well and his shoulders protested his actions.

Olivia wasn't sure which one was the most surprised by the action, her, Peter or the raptor. It did give her precious time to finish reloading and firing off another shot. "You okay?"
