She spent too much time alone. She knew this, both intellectually and as an awareness in her gut. The knowledge didn't inspire her to make any changes though, she was used to a mostly solitary life, having spent most of her life in some form of prison or another

Frank tiptoed into the cafe, his cape wrapped around his shoulders, looking for all the world like an old time villian minus the the moustache. He didn't see Draco and so far, whatever was going on in his mind wasn't being triggered. He wanted tea! Just a cup of tea.

His survey of those within complete, Khan moved to the counter. "Asaam, in a pot. And a bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich on sourdough."

That said, it was possible his device (depending on what data it was gathering) would pick up on the fact that at least one of the people in the cafe wasn't quite human.

Khan picked an adjacent table to River's. "Greetings," he said to her as he waited for his order to be called out as ready. "You're not from around here."

"Though he certainly thought he was." She flipped the journal closed and picked up her tea. "I'm hoping it won't be necessary at all, but... he's not here to keep me on the straight and narrow so to speak."
