Winter is Coming - OTA

Dec 15, 2013 14:13

The temperature drop was much slower in the village than what Jack had ever experienced. The village was stubborn, only giving fleeting inches when Jack wanted feet, and rain when he wanted frozen breath. The feel of Winter just on the horizon was driving him mad, but he felt good at the same time. Just a little stronger everyday. He had even ( Read more... )

Elle was seated at a table by one of the windows as she sipped her morning coffee. Catching the change as frost appeared suddenly on the glass our of the corner of her eye, she perked up.

Her eyes darted around, inspecting the designs and searching for the perpetrator. She couldn't help her giant goofy grin. Who was doing that?!?

Making adults grin was almost as good as inspiring fun in children. Jack had even come to have a tiny bit of appreciation for his invisibility to the non-believers; it made pranking them and amazing them that much easier. Most of the adults in the village didn't immediately explain him away either, so he had that going for him as well.

Jack drew himself riding the wind and throwing snowballs into the frosty mural - Jack Frost in frost! Ha!

And with little bit of magic pulled from fun and joy, he made the picture of himself wave at the woman.

Her mouth dropped and she laughed out loud, not caring if it caused anyone to stare at her. Elle waved back at the waving image. She knew about Jack Frost, certainly, but figured this was just someone with abilities like her having some fun.

She'd been known to do the same herself, "Alright, mister. Show yourself." Elle waggled her finger playfully.

Jack made his image stick its tongue out at her and wave it's hands around.

"Wish it were that easy," he muttered to himself. "Sorry."

Kilrenko, never being one to "sit and recuperate" for long, meanders her way through the streets.

A window apparently frosting itself draws her attention. Initially her look is that of horror, then with a glance around to remind herself that she is not on a station or a space ship, puzzlement.

The amusement of the children inside draws a little smile from the wounded cyborg, though, and she watches a little longer.

He has a new trick these days, and with some concentration, Jack made the pictures move*. The snowball fight scene animates, flakes fall, snowmen come to life, and skating children make figure eights on a lake. And, with a flourish, he signed his name in the corner of the window - Jack Frost.

He was a little surprised to see the woman on his side watching.

"I didn't know I had two audiences," he said with a tone that suggested he would have shown off more. Of course it was hard to tell these days if he was really talking to himself or if people really did see him. he mostly just went with it, taking what he could get.

*He can't bring his art to life like in the movie just yet. He's getting there. :)

The window frosting itself is one thing.

The window frosting animating itself is something else entirely.

The faint feeling she's being addressed draws her attention off the window and she glances around.

"Q?"

A non-believer then. Ah well. That was fine too.

"Q? Is that a name, or 'what in the world?' in another language?" he asked with amusement, not expecting an answer. Jack put his hands together, exhaled, and tossed a snowball between his hands for something to keep busy. then there were threes, and he was juggling.

"Up to your usual mischief, I see." called Legolas. He was more laughing than accusatory. "Is this beautiful snow your doing?"

"Yeah," he said, grinning as he turned to the Elf. "You like it? This is just a taste of what's coming this Winter."

Legolas looked up to the sky and at the diamond like snowflakes floating down. "Yes, I like it...it's majestic. Much like you, my friend."

Jack laughed and went back to adding things to his frosty artwork. "Majestic might be a strong word."
