Castiel was so excited to have a dog- his own animal friend to love and care for! Bernie the dachshund had only been with him and Anna for a few days, but things were going well. Sam didn't reply to the message but he did show up shortly after the time he was instructed to come. Making his way across the park once he spotted Cas, he smiled a bit as he waved.

"Hey, I'm here." he looked around, briefly wondering if it was another woman.

"Skepticism?" That got him a confused little look. "How did Dean..."

Then he shrugged. "We got along pretty good, I think? She's smart and fun." He paused, eyeing Cas then. "Why did you arrange for us to meet?"

"Well, I too thought she was kind and smart. In some ways she reminded me of you." They definitely seemed to have a similar intelligence level as well as maturity, but also that he knew they both felt a little different- like outcasts, though Cas was pretty sure that wasn't something to bring up. Sam didn't have to be reminded of 'Yellow Eyes' and Caprica could tell Sam about her past in her own time.

Finally, however, he sighed and looked at him. "Sam. I am a celestial being. Perhaps things are a little different here, but it doesn't stop me from keeping tabs on those closest to me. I'm aware of what is going on with Ruby."

"She did?" He seemed surprised by that but only because he thought Castiel might not think so kindly of him at times considering the things he had done in the past. The whole releasing Lucifer being at the top considering that was more fresh in his mind.

But then he stopped dead, his mouth opening and closing. He should have known that someone would catch on eventually. "Uh, what...do you mean?" His eyes were a little too wide though.

Cas had no reason to call Sam an abomination anymore, considering he himself was one also by most standards. Actually, he felt he had done worse than Sam, though of course this Sam hadn't lived through all of that yet.

"Sam, don't be an idiot. I wont tell Dean, though he already suspects."

No, Sam seemed to be missing out on a lot of the story but that didn't matter so much right at the moment as he let out a sigh at hearing his brother suspected something was going on.

Well, Cas very rarely told the whole story, didn't he?

"I suppose you must not be very good at sneaking around." He shrugged a shoulder. "We've both suspected since Valentine's day."

"Since Valentine's Day?" He looked confused because nothing had really happened until a couple months after but that wasn't the point. "Why hasn't Dean said anything?"

Because Dean staying quiet about it seemed...well, surprising.

"I guess because everything else in his life is going well, he'd rather not start fighting with you." Plus, there wasn't really anywhere to run, and when Sam and Dean fought, they usually went their separate ways for a while. Cas would rather not have that happen. He preferred the brothers getting along.

"Trust me, I know the feeling." He wanted to avoid fighting with Dean too but he knew it was going to be pretty much inevitable.

Which, he was aware, probably made the whole thing worse or at least made him stupid to get involved with her again.

Sam should have expected the answer but he still looked shocked by it. "No!" He said it quickly before sighing, shaking his head. "No, I'm not."

"Okay. I don't see the attraction, but... I guess if no harm is being done..." Then he couldn't exactly tell Sam not to do it. Not that he was condoning it. And of course he would still keep a close eye on Sam.
