Kerai was still very happy, but no longer in a haze about it. There were plans to be made, so with a determined step, she headed to the library first, then to the bakery

"One chocolate cake with cream cheese icing. One pineapple upside down cake, two apple pies, one cherry, and one peach." She wasn't sure how many people would come, but it was better to have too much food than not enough.
The day was crazy as most people were looking for Memorial day sales, and Carrie found that she was almost compelled to help out. The silverlining of course being that she was too busy to feel nervous.
The last crowd was just leaving when she felt she had time to breath.
Her curiosity did peak when she saw Kerai enter the shop. "Afternoon."
She wondered what she was looking for. Nothing in her experience ever told her that Kerai was all that into clothing.
Pride joined in curiosity. There were plenty of dresses in the shop, but for Kerai to ask for her work specifically made her smile a bit, but she did wonder what it was for.
"Depends." She pulled away from the shelves. "Something simple to take five days to a week, anything more elaborate could take about ten days." She had enough practice and experience to know her limits. "What's it for?"
"I'm getting married. I don't want one of those long dresses covered with lace and a train, but I do want something nice, but sort of rustic, I guess."
It's not a busy day at the library, what with school at its end and children not yet tired of liberty. I would notice Kerai coming in anyway, especially since she looks like she wants to speak with me.
"Good day," I say with a smile. "Better with you in it."
She has her glow about her, and it's always good to see.
My mouth opens just a little, that not being what I expected. I don't know what I expected, really, just not that.
"Better even with such news," I say even as I'm coming out from around the desk to give a sturdy embrace. "I don't even have words to say, and that takes some doing."
I could not be more pleased for the two of them.
"I'm so happy for you--this is what you deserve." Joy and love.
Somehow, Granny has managed to slip into the role of bakery co-owner easily enough, and she enjoys the fact that it's so much like the diner back home. Folks are easy going, and after twenty-eight years of cooking already, she learned how to make Laura's baked goods quickly.
She's just wiping the counter down with the morning rush over, and looks up when the door opens. "Morning," she greets cheerfully. "What can I get you?"
"Sure thing." Granny pulls a pencil from behind her ear, and a notepad out of her pocket. "What can I do you for?"
She's grandmotherly, with a twist. She can smell something different about this one, thanks to her wolf senses. But she's used to it by now, and doesn't think twice about it.
"A chocolate cake with cream cheese icing, a large one. A large pineapple upside down cake. Two apple pies, a cherry pie, and a peach pie." For some reason talking about the chocolate cake makes her...fond.

Kerai smiled at him, unwontedly shy, now that it came time to ask him.
"We're to be getting married, Chuck and I, two weeks from last Saturday."

She welcomes the embrace and returns it, a little misty eyed.
"Anyone and everyone will be welcome, but some people especially so, and you are one of those...in fact..." she bites her lip and blushes a bit.
