It's strange to get an message from Leoben regarding Kyla. That Kyla wants to talk strikes Alissa as strange and she has to wonder 'why'. Leoben had assured her that she's not in trouble, but there's little else she can think of that would constitute a conversation with the daughter of the Resistance Leader ( Read more... )

Kyla had no real idea how she was supposed to feel about Allsion's arrival. That she didn't exist yet was one thing. She could even deal, she thought, with not existing at all. But to have her father not be the leader of the Resistance felt like Skynet won. It had nothing to do with pride, either. It had to do with the fundamental belief that John Connor was going to save them all.

She glanced at Leoben just before she reached for the door to the ice cream place. "Thanks... for coming." She really did need him here. With him here, she probably would be less prone to wanting to shoot Alissa.

"You're welcome." Leoben gave her a reassuring smile, placing a hand on her back as he stepped inside the ice cream parlor behind her. He was worried about what Kyla was feeling, but so far wasn't going to press.

Alissa sees them enter and notes they don't have their child with them. It's a tactical move, she understands, but there's a small part of her that wanted to see a hybrid baby. Espcially one born from the two of them.

She looks up and waves with a pleasant smile. She's been learning how to blend in better.

Kyla tried not to frown when she saw how happy Alissa seemed to be to see them. It was a trick, obviously, and it unsettled her to see how well the Infiltrator was learning. Alissa would be right about John, though. There was no way Kyla was letting her near their child.

She walked up to the table where Alissa sat and pulled out one of the chairs on the opposite side of the table. She sat, but didn't say anything. She had to muster up the willpower to try and sound pleasant. It might take her a moment. So she sat and looked at Alissa instead.
