When the dark comes, the monsters will play (The 'big bads')

Jan 26, 2013 13:01

When the siren sounds, it's a warning to the people of Haurvatat - you can run, but you can't hide. Of course, the hotel was safe, but the rest of the village was not. Whatever dark, sinister thing had found itself into the small pocket-dimension was taking over in a fierce way and its monsters reflected the worst of humanity. Images of the dark, ( Read more... )

Near apothecary, may be joined by Draco annatar_s January 26 2013, 21:49:39 UTC
Perhaps his inner-most demons were worse than other peoples, or perhaps it was that he'd seen outer ones to give most people nightmares: these called him master. The darkness and everything in it did not frighten Annatar at all, but made him irritable and wont to take it out (violently) on any of them he came across. He wasn't surprised to find himself near the apothecary... Would Draco really be fool enough to be there? Well, he had his own magic, so not that big a fool.

Annatar worried about him. No need to worry about himself because he was so fast and could barely be harmed. If necessary, he could become incorporeal and strike as a confusing mist. Usually he just used his mithril broadsword.

The sound of his feet are the first thing to be heard. They're slow, but deliberate, and when he appeared from the alleyway, he had with him a large weapon. A makeshift sledgehammer. Towering at over eight-feet tall, the Bogeyman seemed to pause at the entrance of the alleyway.

[I'll just throw him into it then, shall I?]

Draco had only stopped at the Apothecary to pick something up - a special knife with some darkly sentimental value. However, that had not been his weapon of choice when a pair of nasty beasties had stopped by to play with him.

By the look of him when he stepped out of the warped doorway of the shop, the wizard had taken a hands-on approach; his clothes were dark and dripping with blood. The smile on his face was probably more disturbing than the severed arm her held by a bruised wrist.

He laughed when he saw Annatar and the incoming giant. Draco smoothed his disarrayed hair back, leaving it streaked red with blood.

"You always have impeccable timing, Annatar."

"You're a mess. That thing is crude." Annatar scowled. Was that a bloated, modern version of Angmar?

"He's moving slow so far. I don't trust in that." He could move amazingly quickly, but Draco looked to be in one of his states and might not be thinking particularly clearly.

"Will it do any good for me to tell you to stay back and let me take care of it?" he asked. "If you're going to continue the way you started, you'll have to get too close to it for my liking."

Dresden Group - Carlos, Molly, Karrin and Harry drsmartass January 27 2013, 00:00:22 UTC
Harry had made sure that Mouse stayed in the hotel keeping the people there safe. He assumed that Annie was with her dad on the boat since he couldn't find her and he had to believe she was safe.

He'd contacted Molly, Karrin and Carlos to make sure they were okay before heading out. It didn't come as any surprise that they'd run into each other later taking care of whatever these things were. "Fuego!" A stream of fire engulfed one of the 'beings' and the smell of burning flesh had him coughing. "Gah, I hate that."

Fidelacchus and Amoracchius had turned up in her room. It was the first sign she had that something was going to go wrong.

Of course when her favorite P-90 turned up, she knew to be prepared. She hadn't been doing what she'd been doing for so long and still lived without being prepared. Seeing Harry out there - well, she wasn't surprised, and she made her way over to him, grinning wildly. This was more like it. "Fancy meeting you here."

Molly unveiled as soon as the creature went up in smoke and she began gagging. "Seriously man, we need to stand downwind from this." She smiled over at Karrin when she saw her, too. "Monster magnet, that's what he is."

Carlos had been out with his unit, but peeled off as he saw the familiar faces. "All we need is a dinosaur and we're all set. Oh wait, we have one," he grinned at Harry. He was enjoying fighting a little too much.

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit." Kenzi was muttering to herself over and over as she held tightly to the katana she was currently armed with at the moment. She had been at the club when things had changed and already she knew she was in a bad spot.

Silently praying to herself, she crept along slowly towards where she hoped the hotel was.

In the darkened street, there were figures. Figures that looked like nurses except they had no face and thier uniforms were stained with red and other things. They looked like mannequins, still and quiet, though some of them held weapons in this hands - scalpels, lead pipes, and other seemingly found objects. There was enough of them to block the street, but they were spread out with some gaps in between them.

"Damn, why couldn't it be zombie hookers?" Kenzi muttered to herself as she looked at the strange figures in front of her.

She thought about turning around and going back but God knew what else she would run into. Plus these guys were still, right? Maybe they were just statues or something meant to freak people out....because it was working.

Wetting her lips, she moved forward slowly, moving through the gaps as she tried to make sure not to bump into one of them. Which was easier said than done in some spots.

As Kenzi moved through the maze of stilled nurses, some of them started to make sounds. They were sort of like sighs or cooing sounds, but not quite entirely human, either.

Faith had been spending the majority of her time guarding her son and the daycare. Which was where she was now, holding an axe and crossbow at her hip. When the sirens went off she was on high alert.

She was made for this. And she had someone to protect now, so she would be a force to be reckoned with.

The stomping came first and then a figure towering over eight feet tall came into view. He carried with him a makeshift sledgehammer and turned and paused, as if to present himself to Faith as a challenge.

She caught sight of the figure and took a moment to size him up. A slow smile graced her lips. This was going to be fun.

Faith stepped closer, axe held at the ready. "You don't look so tough..."

Of course she was having flashbacks to the Beast, that stood about as tall, that had knocked her around six ways from Sunday back in LA. Best not to think about that.

He brought one hand up to where his mouth would be, though it was covered by the gas mask, and made a 'shhh' gesture with his index finger up.

Then, two hand back on his weapon, the Bogeyman began to walk towards her, picking up speed as got closer, the ground shaking just a little under his girth.
