The only regret Daniel had about shutting up the dig site for the winter was the fact that they wouldn't find anything new for a while. James stepped out of the coffee shop when an absent minded man was approaching it. He held the door open for him.

Just that moment, another customer hurried out of the shop past him and instinctively James' hand went out and barred the absent minded man's path so the two wouldn't crash into each other.

"Whoa, careful there," he exclaimed, aimed at both of them but neither in particular.

The other customer just hurried on without paying attention to the two men outside the coffee shop.

Daniel blinked slightly, his mind returning from where it had been wandering, to focus back on reality. He caught a glimpse of the customer who was hurrying off, then turned to the man who'd given the warning. "Uh, thanks," he said, gripping his coffee cup tighter. "Guess I should watch where I'm going."

"Yeah, trying to work out where I'd seen something before. Was it Mayan, or something later...?" He was mostly talking to himself, but he shook himself out of it, giving Jim a wry grin. "Sorry, I get wrapping up in things like that."

"You know, you're going to be like Norm on Cheers. They'll probably name a booth for you." Kate teased as she walked up to Daniel after the waitress had his coffee ready for him.

Daniel turned to grin at Kate, ordering a drink for her as well. "I can't help it if they make decent coffee." Even if they'd made bad coffee, he would be there, drinking it.

"Uh huh." Kate said with a smirk. "There's other places that make coffee, too. You just like that the waitresses all remember you." She teased him.
