Love sought is good, but given unsought is better. (OTA - backdated to yesterday)

It should have been a day of celebration, in some ways, because 'twas the anniversary of the day on which the world was blest with one of the fairest talents Kit had known. But 'twas also a day of sorrow, marking that day on which one of the brightest lights of his world hadst forever gone out ( Read more... )

The rain made Aaron glad that his wings basically folded up to nothing. He didn't mind getting a little wet, but wasn't a fan of smelling like wet canary. Figuring he'd get out of it for a bit, Aaron stepped into the nearest door.

He was looking around for a seat when he saw a familiar face. Stepping over, he smiled. "Kit, hello - how have you been?" He remembered their previous conversation about Lucifer - nothing like meeting his own version to bring the memory back.

Kit looked up at hearing his name and looked a little startled when he saw Aaron standing there.

"Aaron! I thought you had left..."

"I did, but I'm back now." Aaron said. "With stories to tell, even. Mind if I join you?"

"Not at all." Kit waved at an empty chair. "Please. How long have you been back?"

Draco was used to seeing glum people in the Haurvatat bars - he was one of them more often than not when he decided to partake in public drinking outside of Franks - but usually he did not know the person. Draco did hate seeing his friends like that. He liked to think his own roller coaster emotional life made up for everyone else. Of course only someone as vain and arrogant as himself could rationalize like that, but Draco was also excellent at ignoring that voice.

"I hadn't taken you for a lonely drinker," Draco said as he took the seat next to Kit, and ordered an ale instead of his usual whiskey.

[I have a three day weekend! Lalalalalaaa!]

Kit looked up, and the glum look slid away when he saw Draco, fading into a bit of a smile instead.

"I'm not, usually. And I welcome the company."

[ooc: Whee! I...have no power all day tomorrow, so I have to find somewhere with power and 'net access to even get work done. LOL]

Draco smiled in response to the change in Kit's face. That was better.

"Good. I wouldn't want to impose myself on someone I actually like."

[Yikes! That blows.]

"Never an imposition," Kit assured him. "And I'm not....glum. Just remembering. The good memories outweigh the bad." People died. Will's, at least, had not been unexpected, and he'd gotten to say his goodbyes.

[So, so much. No light in bathroom. No hot water. No TV. No 'net. No ability to cook. No refrigeration--I am SO not pleased they're DELIBERATELY doing this to us for 12 hours]
