This really isn't 1492 [OTA, dual-pup/dual-mun]

If Klaus believed Faye and Lexi, which he had little reason not to, then he and Elijah had been a little over 500 hundred years older only a couple of days ago. After an interesting morning, that had honestly been very similar for both brothers unbeknownst to them, the girls had left, parting ways, leaving he and Elijah to themselves. That hadn't ( Read more... )

Katherine had found herself enjoying this place she was in once she had it explained. Another world to explore and make hers? She reveled in the opportunity, a fresh start appealing for all she found herself missing Klaus and Elijah more than she'd thought possible. Could she rarely care for them? It was a stange thing to consider, stranger than the newness of this place, at least to Katherine ( ... )

Elijah really wasn't fond of this place, overall. While pleased to have Klaus there, he did not like things that reeked of magic which he could not explain. Since Klaus's little witch hadn't had much of an explanation except that they had either been kidnapped to a magical dimension, or lost 500 years of their lives, or both--he was even less pleased. When witches couldn't explain things, they had to be bad ( ... )

Klaus was about to reply when he saw someone catch Elijah's eyes and he followed his brother's line of sight, smiling at the sight of Katerina.

"It certainly has," he said, eyes locked onto Katerina's, his expression beckoning her over as he gave a slight tilt of his head toward their table.

That nod was all that she needed, sweeping across the floor with wine in hand. Even here and in trousers she dipped slightly in a well-practised curtsey, her smile both bright and cheeky. "You too are in this strange place. Would it be forward of me to say that I find that a welcome development?"

Elijah leaned back in his chair, taking the wine Klaus had poured and sipping it.

"It's certainly strange. Everything feels..." he gave him a crooked smile. "Well, as I suppose it must feel to all brought here--as if we've been yanked out of where we belong and deposited somewhere utterly foreign. All these...machines. I never would believe humans would allow so much to be done for them--and yet I do not think they are magic."

"Do you believe everything that Lexi, and then Faye, had to say?" It was difficult to believe people you'd never even met before.

Klaus took the messenger out of his pocket and set it on the table beside his glass. "It would be far more simple and easier to accept that they're run with magic, but the girls didn't seem to think they were. All of the machines seem so commonplace, like some other type of power has been harnessed to operate them constantly." As if he knew what that sort of power might be.

He poked one of the buttons on the messenger, bringing it to life and the message Faye had half-typed sat there, waiting to be sent if Klaus desired.

"I don't know," Elijah admitted. "They both seemed so certain, and the human I've apparently been living with...he thought the same. Obviously there are things here that we are unfamiliar with, which lends credence to their story of it being a far later time than we know." He nodded at the messenger in Klaus's hand.

"But...I find it difficult to believe that anything would just...make us suddenly forget 500 years. Perhaps, instead, our future selves were taken by this place before, and then whatever is behind it brought us here in their places?"

If one accepted the premise of magical kidnapping villages, at all, that seemed more likely than suddenly being 500 years younger overnight.

"You live with a human?" Klaus asked, making a face. "That seems strange, in a place like this, where there are so many rooms. What need would you have for a human? Is he some kind of servant of yours?" Why didn't he have servants, then?

He gave another look at the messenger, not fiddling with anymore of its buttons just yet.

"That's far more reasonable than thinking we regressed in years," which is exactly what had been suggested. "What do you think we should...do, while we're here?"

There were a lot of pretty, potentially yummy people, but Lexi had referenced some kind of annoying vampire feeding rules, that Klaus refused to acknowledge at the moment.

Jenna liked the Black Sheep. It was somewhere where she could blend in and drink without running into anyone that she really knew. Or at least that was usually the plan though she didn't seem so lucky tonight as she noticed both Klaus and Elijah sitting at a table.

She had told Elijah that she wouldn't go out of her way to avoid Klaus but she wouldn't actively seek him out either. So it left her wondering what to do when he was nearby and there was no way of possibly going unnoticed. She might have tried if Elijah hadn't been sitting there as well. There had been one misunderstanding between them and she didn't want there to be another one.

So, after picking up her drink, she made her way over to their table. "Hello, Elijah. Klaus." There was a warmer smile for the first brother mentioned, then the smile tightened slightly as she focused on the other. That's when she suddenly frowned, confused. "What did you two do to your hair?"

Elijah looked up at the woman who had approached them. Vampire, he silently corrected himself as he took her in. Definitely vampire.

A few people now had greeted them--enough for him to be convinced they knew them somehow, though he was still convinced that the most likely theory was that their older selves had been in this place and now they were here, instead.

"Why is everyone obsessed with our hair?" he asked Klaus, before sighing and looking back at Jenna. "Hello. Who are you?"

Klaus gave a sigh too, shaking his head a little at Elijah. Whatever had happened, their modern day selves must be quite a bit different looking in that regard.

He gave a nod, lips starting to turn up in a small smile as he looked at her, letting the unknown vampire answer the question.

"Probably because it was shorter the last time I saw you." Her eyes flickered between the two of them curiously. "Both of you."

But then she paused at the question of who she was. "Jenna." She answered automatically before it started to click that something was clearly wrong. "You don't remember me?"
