Jenna had never been to The Black Sheep before but she had thought it was about time to go somewhere new, somewhere where she could possibly just blend in and have a few drinks. The last week hadn't been easy but she had finally started to feel better after having her talk with Ric. Or at least she had till she had messaged Elijah which had led

Only occasionally did he resort to sticking pencils in disrespectful vampires' necks.
Only a few times had he thought how eminently satisfying it might be to do so to Alaric.
But when he walked into the pub, none of that showed. He spotted Jenna and moved to her table, taking a seat, and waving for a server to bring him a glass and a bottle of tequila. This not being Fangtasia, she looked a little startled at the bottle request, but she complied.
"Hello, Jenna."

"Hello, Elijah."
It didn't feel right to be stiff but she didn't know what to do. Looking at the waitress, she motioned at her drink to signal that she wanted another one. When they were left alone again, she looked to Elijah once more. She would ask him how he was doing but she could tell something was wrong.
"I'm glad you came out."

He didn't want to blame her, didn't want to feel the hurt. He couldn't blame her for how she felt, after all.
He'd just let her die, before. His vengeance had been all he could see. That it wouldn't have saved her for him to act--Klaus's vengeance for interrupting the ritual would have been unfathomably (Katerina could have told them that price)--didn't matter. He'd let her die. And then he hadn't avenged her. He'd let Klaus live.
He didn't even have the right to be upset they didn't trust him to do any different now. That didn't change the fact that he was, however he tried to bury it again.

"Are you going to tell me what brought it on? Besides it being a hard week?" She asked plainly, setting her glass down.

He slid onto a stool a few seats down from a woman and ordered an ale, he'd taken a sip before he became aware that her scent was different. And vaguely familiar.
Which was why he was looking at her quizzically.

He slid into a seat, putting both elbows on the table and tilting his head at her, giving her a smile. "Aunt Jenna. How's the family been?"
As genuine as his smile was, his words were certainly sarcastic enough.

"It's Jenna for you." She pointed out, sipping her drink once more. "And you would know better than me, wouldn't you?" She wasn't about to tell him that Jeremy had arrived.

"Which is a shame, because, well...I haven't had a nasty thought about anyone from Mystic Falls since I showed up. I have to say, I think Elijah might be going a bit overboard with the worry." He'd certainly had hateful thoughts about Katherine, though, but what else was new?
He didn't acknowledge any other possibility of her question, that she was implying that he'd broken the family apart back home.

"You really can't blame him though, can you?" She asked dryly, glancing up as a waitress came to ask him if he wanted anything to drink. She opened her mouth to state that he wouldn't be staying at her table but then she stopped herself for some reason. Instead, she looked a bit annoyed as she drained her glass and pushed it towards the waitress.
"I'll have another."
