Out of the black - arrival [[OTA]]

Once Serenity is all fixed up, it's the first night without Wash that's the hardest. Zoë kept herself good and occupied working on making sure Mal's boat could fly again, wearing herself out and sleeping wherever she wound up once she was exhausted. She usually worked silently up on the bridge in front of the cockpit, in the space between panels ( Read more... )

Dean wondered if he had a curse on him or something as he stared down the end of a rifle pointed at his face. At least if he did have a curse it was connected to hot women doing it to him.

"No offense but you might want to point that thing at the Necromorph that is hot on my tail instead of me." However, Dean did put his hands up, both holding swords.

Zoe looks over his shoulder, then doesn't hesitate, bringing her Winchester over Dean's shoulder and firing two shots at the thing's head.

It goes down, but it's definitely still alive with no head left. But her gun goes back to him quickly.

"Where the hell am I?"

Just a flicker of gun envy warred with the hotness of seeing her calmly raise the rifle over his head and shoot at the Necromorph. It also warred with the desire to stay alive and chit chatting shortened those odds.

"It's called Haurvatat and I'd love to tell you all about it over a beer but right now I need to cut that bastard's limbs off or we'll be next. So, how about you provide cover while I slice and dice?"

Zoe looks around, and considering her options she pulls another, smaller gun out from behind her back and uses that and the rifle to give him his cover. When she gets a good look at the thing, her first thought is reaver.

If the gorram things need to be sliced up to be dead, then she's gonna need something better than her guns. Taking aim at one a few feet away, she shoots. "You want me in this fight, gotta have somethin' to fight with that'll keep it down." Her voice is raised to make sure he can hear her from her position behind and just to the left of him.

She may not have a lot of experience with modern day weapons, but she knew of them. She had her sword in hand, taking a step back from the weapon pointing at her with a calm look on her face. If she hadn't just been fighting whatever those creatures were she would have been shaken.

"Forgive me, I did not mean to scare you."

"Oh, you don't scare me," Zoe assures her. "Where am I? How'd I get here?"

Because things ain't already messed up enough.

"Haurvatat. And I do not know how you got here, people just seem to show up," she told her. There was not much that Gwen was able to tell her, at least not when they should not be out here for too long. "We need to get indoors, it isn't safe. Unfortunately you have arrived at a bad time."

As she says it, something big and ugly starts making it's way toward them, and Zoe aims her gun at it, firing without asking questions. The shotgun blows its face off but it keeps coming - albeit slower, now.

"Yeah, you go ahead and lead the way," she says, backing up from the creature.
