Circling in the sky. [[Timed to this afternoon, see note below]]

Mar 19, 2011 19:00

There's a black dot on the horizon of Haurvatat. Slowly it gets closer as residents begin to wonder. Is it a large bird? It's finally close enough to make out large wings beating once, then twice, and finally it comes into view. A large red dragon, tail curving to bend it to the left where it disappears, then reappears at the other end of the ( Read more... )

Phoebe was about to head inside of P3 when Rhiannon started growling. Confused, she looked around. When she heard the roar, she looked up...

...and stared for a long time.

"What in the hell?"

"That is totally a dragon." Ed ambled up next to the woman. His head was angled up and he was staring at the mythical animal above.

"Yeah it is. What I want to know is how did it wind up here."

"Conjured by an evil sorcerer? Astral projection? Flew through the rabbit hole?"

Ashley's jogging through the park with her iPod blasting when she hears something that cuts right through the blare of Muse. Coming to a stop and looking up, she pulls out her ear buds and moves clear of the treats to be able to really see.

Eyes widening, she realizes there's not enough space in the rinky-dink Sanctuary for a dragon.

"Holy shit."

Abby had been on her way back to the hotel from Tora's Haven through the park when she heard the noise. When she saw the Dragon she had to blink a few times. When she spotted Ashley she lifted a hand in greeting and moved over to her.

"Is that what I think it is?"

"A big ass dragon? Yep, pretty sure that's it."

Looking over at the girl she shakes her head. "So, this village is pretty dullsville until even the people in charge get bored, huh?"

"Yeah, that's what I thought it was," Abby said quietly, shaking her head. "That's not even the strangest thing I've ever seen."

She thought for a second and then nodded. "I'm guessing that the people in charge getting bored is never a good thing."

Merlin was walking toward the bakery when he saw the dragon. He first panicked when he thought it might be the dragon, but it wasn't his. He let out a sigh of relief. His sigh was short-hand, however, when he remembered that Arthur was now in the village.

Crap. His eyes widened and he turned around and scrambled for the hotel. He just hoped Arthur was still inside and hadn't seen or heard the commotion. When he got to Arthur's room, he nodded hurriedly, knocking until Arthur would hopefully open the door.

Arthur picked at the baked cheese in frustration. He had washed at it, scrubbed at it, and still could not get it all off. One would think with all of the advances in this world, someone would have come up with a cheese that came off the bloody dish after cooking--

A hammering noise almost made him drop the dish; he rather thought it was a shame he caught it, since breaking it would have solved the problem. There was only one person he could think of who would be hammering on the door like that, and that person might actually know how to accomplish this. Wiping his hands on the dishtowel as he went over, he opened it and did not even look out before saying, "Good timing. How the hell do you wash cheese off a pan?"

If anyone had told him a month ago that he would ever be wondering something like that, he would have laughed them out of the room...

Merlin opened his mouth to say something like 'oh good, you're here' but Arthur cut him to the chase and left Merlin standing there with his mouth open and a perplexed expression on his face.

It took him a moment realize what exactly Arthur had said - the sheer fact Arthur had knew it was was him before opening the door had stunned him. Now, he was trying to get over the fact that Arthur was asking a question about dishes.

Slowly, his stunned expression turned amused with his lips forming a wry smile. He couldn't help but picture Arthur standing over a sink with a dish towel. He hoped Arthur always used dish gloves.

"Having troubles?" He was trying not to laugh. It was just too good.

He had clearly caught Merlin off-guard, but he did not have time for that. And then, Merlin was on the verge of laughing, which just enhanced his frustration. "Just get in here," he growled, stepping back to let his friend in.

Stalking back toward the kitchenette, he scowled. "Of course, I'm having trouble. It's cheese, it should just come off like any other food, but it's--" Catching sight of it in the sink, he gestured toward it. "It's refusing to come off."

This was becoming a battle, man versus cheese, and he would win.

Riley heard the sound of breathing fire - though he didn't know what that was until he saw it - and stared where he stood out in front of Rangeman.

A dragon. Great.

Becker had been coming out of the building when he heard the noise. He looked up at the sky, saw the dragon, and swore.

And yet... not the strangest thing.

"Pretty sure that's not normal, even for here."

"No.. definitely not." He couldn't stop picturing Buffy trying to stop it. His mind was worried about it.

"Well.. we used to have this dragon woman.. thing. But she didn't fly around or breathe fire." He paused, then added. "I think."

(ooc: Grendil's mom was in the village at one point lol)

"That's... not terribly reassuring," Becker said dryly, still watching the dragon. Abby would be proud of him for tamping down on the shoot first ask questions later instinct.

Loki watched from his seat in the park as the dragon circled. He didn't have evil energy in him, the animal was just displeased to be stuck here. Loki couldn't blame him. He sat back on the bench, but was ready in case the dragon decided to take its frustration out on someone.
