It's Getting Cold In Here (Closed to Ghost)

Anna closed the door behind her and worked her way to the kitchen with the two bags of groceries she had in arms. She normally didn't need that much food, but she made the mistake of shopping while hungry and now her fridge would be overstocked. The steam of the shower was creating a fog in the bathroom. The mist was visible, rising and falling as it slowly lost its heat. Suddenly the water in the shower turned instantly ice cold.

Before Anna was able to complete the circle, the woman appeared again near the door way. The look of hatred was strong in her features and the air in the room went below freezing instantly.

This was getting useless. She didn't have the proper equipment with her which Anna realized now was stupid. Anna wasn't a hunter, but she knew what was out there and should be more prepared. While she did have a devil's trap under the rug at her door, she had little else.

Anna silently hoped that this would work. She had only used her powers once in the village and before then, only the one time at the hospital. They were hard to muster, but easier when her heart was racing and she was scared. She was scared now.

She looked at the ghost and drew on the energy of how fast her heart was beating as she send out whatever mental energy she could muster.

The woman was forced back against the wall with a utterly surprised look on her face. Anna hadn't caused her to disappear, but the fact that Anna had been able to 'touch' the woman seemed to stun her completely.

Anna took the opportunity to throw salt at the ghost's direction and then quickly, without even paying much attention to whether or not the ghost disappeared, completing the circle around the room.

The temperature in the room remained cold for a moment and then the air slowly warmed until it was normal again. A moment after that the clocks on the machines went back to normal too.

Anna let out a breath of relief, but she wasn't about to go moving about her room just yet. She would wait and see and meanwhile send a text out to a few people who might know what was going on. She was thankful that the ghost didn't have the wherewithal to realize the temperature in her current lack of attire would have been more dangerous than outright attacking.
