Sweeney Todd the Musical (ota - gathering style) Backdated to Saturday

Sep 19, 2010 16:00

The night was the night for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. While there had been some hiccups along the way - thankfully Spike had been able to quell Drusilla's hissy fit on not being able to use real blood in the production - the dress rehearsal had gone as well as anyone could want and now it was time for  the real thing. Audience reactions can be placed here or if you want two people to whisper to each other during the performance, etc.

OTA if you want to talk to him, but mostly a reaction post mnightlevel September 19 2010, 21:33:43 UTC
Chuck watched from a seat in the center and three rows back. He loved Kerai's bits the most, obviously. And the feelings she exuded into the crowd really added to the experience.

When it was over he stood up and cheered with all his might.

Kerai gathered the feelings she needed, the sense of doom, of reality melting even as one tried to grip it, the desperate desire to be heard, to be understood, and she poured them through her voice as she sang the role of Lucy. Goosebumps and a sense of horror-struck urgency tended to remain in the theater for some time after she sang.

She felt no self-consciousness about playing a mad beggar woman, it was only near the end, as she lay 'dead', that Sweeney recognized her as his beautiful wife, now ruined. She was glad that the audience could not really see 'her' at that point and trusted to the acting of the Sweeney player to convince the audience that she was once beautiful.

Satine had never felt so complete as an actress. When she performed her act back home, she was still herself, just more dazzling... the transformation from Satine to Mrs. Lovett was much more consuming.

She was now, she realized, a real actress...

Playing a love-sick fool yearning for his love was an easy role for Draco. So when he sang, he put all of himself into the song; the pining, the determination, the confidence all would be well in the end. If there was a dry eye in the house, he would be offended.

The backstage was quiet, but busy. People waited in the wings for their cues as the performance went on.

Deadpool adjusted his cape and went over his lines in his head. The make-up artist had caked on the make up, so that his face looked relatively normal. He also had on a black wig and fake mustache.

His costume was overly eccentric, straight down to the top-hat. He was going to be the best Adolfo Pirelli ever.

After Party his_pet_dru September 19 2010, 20:01:52 UTC
The after party was held at the hotel's ballroom. It was decorated similarly to the way the sets of the musical were. Along one wall were drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as blood in cans called 'Trublood'. Along another wall were various forms of food from chips and dip to small sandwiches and desserts. There was a dance floor, if people desired, and some chairs and tables set up if people wanted to sit.

Still in costume and covered in fake blood, Wade munched on a sandwich from the large pile of food on his plate.

Drusilla walked up to Deadpool. She was dressed in a black and red Victorian dress that might have looked like a costume to those of a different era. To Drusilla, it was what she was used to wearing.

Her eyes washed over the fake blood before landing on his eyes. "You look delicious."

"Thanks!" he grinned, "Although, I doubt I actually am, f.y.i. I've been told I taste synthetic. Like rotten to-furkey."
