The weather today couldn't have been better, and Betty gave a pleased glance toward the sky. It was clear and warm, and when evening came it would be perfect for fireworks. Since this was the second time she'd thrown such a party things were running a bit smoother.
Along with the hamburgers, hot dogs, and other picnic foods, there was an assortment of
red, white, and blue desserts courtesy of Laura from the bakery. The older woman didn't know anything of the sort about America's Independence day, but she could appreciate fighting for freedom, so Betty's request had been filled happily. All of the tables
were set up, there were enough
party favors for anyone who might want one, booths for games, face painting, a dunk tank and other things to keep families amused.
She was very pleased with how everything had turned out and after a quick trip back to the hotel
to change her clothes and pick up Gene, Betty made her way back to the party, in a better mood than she had been in a long time.
[[ooc: Everyone is welcome to come to this party! There's enough for anyone who decides to show up. I'm turning my notifs off (not that they're working right ANYWAY), since last year there were over a thousand. So, if you want Betty, tag her in your subject line!]]
