Well, this was ... different.

For a man who was used to dealing with the unusual and the eccentric for nearly all of his life (certainly all of his adult life), this was - yeah. Different.

Charlotte Charles had been careful not to mope since the Pie Maker had apparently dropped off the face of the earth (or wherever they were). She still smiled and laughed, stillread interesting books and dreamed of having her own apiary, but something was undeniably missing. For the first time since her death, she didn't have her childhood sweetheart with her. In some ways it made things easier-- she didn't have to worry about dying from an accidental touch, and since no one here knew her secret unless she chose to tell them, she could very easily pretend to be completely normal. "So unless Olive is still here, it's just you and I."

The thought was kind of a comforting one. Not that he didn't appreciate the presence of Emerson or Olive, but here, it was a bit like their own secret.

Even if the secret was in another world outside of time where everything was clearly unfamiliar.

"Just you and me," she agreed, with another thrill of realization that Ned was really here. It was harder to pretend to be normal when the man who'd touhed her back to life was here, but she didn't care. They were together again.

They were together again - together and not upset at each other, with all truths revealed and no further secrets between them.

It was relieving and nice, and it made Ned feel like he could move on and be the best boyfriend he could be.

"So ... what have you been doing here these months?"

"Oh, you know. A little of this, a little of that."

She'd been trying to live a normal life and had been as successful as possible here, but she'd also been lonely and missing him and home terribly.

"I was working at a dress shop? But I've been thinking about trying to do something a little more... familiar. Maybe start my own business."

She looked excited. It didn't seem scary with Ned around.
