Backdated to After Meeting Blake (Closed to Avon)
After his talk with Blake, Data detoured from taking readings around the village to go find Avon. He knew, in Avon's position, how he would have felt, and it was fairly easy to deduce that the technician hadn't told Blake much concerning his future.
He could also guess what sort of mood this was going to keep Avon in. It had taken him quite a bit of effort to see those easy smiles and a something of a kinder demeanor. This could practically be an emotional disaster for the man. Perhaps, if it had been after Blake's death, then it would have been a little more of a relief. It would have left something of an opening for resolution. But this was what Avon would have to cope with and Avon... was not a man that appeared to cope well. He would do whatever he had to to support him, though, and help him in any way that he could.
He had to wonder if he encounter Tasha prior to her death, would he be able to resist telling her the future in an effort to countermand it?
He probably wouldn't be able to, no.
He went back up to their room, carrying a unlabeled package he found in his mailbox, guessing that if Avon wasn't there he eventually would be.
