Crews was fascinated with the village since his arrival on Saturday. He hadn't spent much time in his room. It was too small. It wasn't quite eight-by-six, but it was small enough to remind him of darker times. Crews, as a result, spent a lot of his time out, wandering and getting a feel for the village he found himself in. He switched to civilian clothes. A nice pair of pants, a long sleeve shirt, and a comfortable jacket and he was eating a plum as he walked casually down the street.

"I agree, but there isn't anyone in the village who's really the same age. That and she's latched onto me and the other men from my company who are here. Hell, she lives with my CO."

"You'd be surprised how accostumed you get to living in the same place after a while. The first three years are always the hardest." He was speaking from experience. "But just because you're here, doesn't mean you have to 'be' here."
