Crews was fascinated with the village since his arrival on Saturday. He hadn't spent much time in his room. It was too small. It wasn't quite eight-by-six, but it was small enough to remind him of darker times. Crews, as a result, spent a lot of his time out, wandering and getting a feel for the village he found himself in. He switched to civilian clothes. A nice pair of pants, a long sleeve shirt, and a comfortable jacket and he was eating a plum as he walked casually down the street.

"Well if he really does look like me, how can I blame you?" The concept was still quite fascinating. "Does everyone here have a double?"

"No, not everyone. And you've got two." So far, Speirs had been mistaken for someone's father, but he didn't have a double in the village.

He raised his eyebrows at the word wizard. He's been in jail for a long time. Maybe 'wizard' meant different things nowadays. "Homicide Detective. LAPD." Somewhere inbetween, maybe?

"Iraq?" he looked confused for a moment. Iraq wasn't even a country when he was from.

"I'm fighting in Belgium. Or I was, when I got pulled out."

"Belgium?" He looked confused now. "Unless something seriously happened in the last twelve years, the last time there was a big war in Belgium was over fifty years ago."
