Into the Woods, really (Open)
Going out today to look for some more unusual trails for hiking. The wood on the western side of the village are less traveled in general, due to not being by the park or the water, so that is my destination. I'm wearing modern clothing today with my own boots, the best I have for hiking. I'd like to be armed more than the knife in my boot but it would look odd when just out for a walk.
I need to speak to a number of people about this Joker person, including Shasta and Dr. Koscuisko. I don't know how many people know what he did at home but those that do might end up blaming him for something not his fault. Shasta simply needs to be kept away from him if possible. I may well have annoyed that bastard by pointing an arrow at his head and he could take it out on those I care about--it's not exactly private that I tutor the young man. And he should keep his archery practice to the dojo for a while.
I know where he was yesterday though I could not go myself--I was not invited. It just makes me think of the other parties there have been and the likelihood that I will not be invited to future events. Father's Day. That act which will make me a father excludes me because I hurt people by it. I should not dwell, since it is done and cannot be undone. I can only go forward and keep the promise I made to Admiral Aubrey, to teach the young people of the village and keep them as safe as I can doing it.
