Is, of course, picture-perfect. No Charlie Brown trees here. There are a few presents scattered beneath. Pick up or leave some of your own.

After depositing his Secret Santa gift under the tree, Remus caught sight of a package with his name on it. He was surprised, and then embarrassed when he saw who it was from. He hadn't gotten Howie anything, and his face flushed. Moving to one side of the tree, he neatly removed the paper, then smiled at the contents.

Currently, he is moving through the crowd in the shop with the blue door, looking for Howie.

Howie had pretty much satisfied his need for food - but he was still eating.

Just a little.

Hey, it was good.

He was rounding back in on the cocktail weenies when he saw Remus and quickly shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Hey."

"Hi. I just wanted to find you to thank you for this." He gestures to Howie's gift, which he's still holding, and smiles crookedly. "But I didn't get you anything."

"Oh. Oh, thats cool. I mean, its no biggie," he shrugged. He hadn't really expected anything and was more concerned about whether or not Remus thought that the fact Howie had gotten him something was weird.

"I mean...it was no problem, I just thought I'd make you a CD, you know, so you'd know what you missed. I mean from the seventies til....2007."

"Well - thanks." He looks down, then back up. "I want to get you something. But, I have to think about what. It will probably end up being a book."

"I like books," he allowed. He liked them a lot, actually, more than he admitted to most people. "...but, I mean, you don't have to get me anything. Its cool."

Was that what he was supposed to say?

"No, really. I want to." He pauses, looks pensive. "What kind of books do you like?" This is a serious project for Remus, and thus requires a Serious Face.

The serious face made him feel sort of awkward and he shrugged.

"Um...well... I like...lots of books I guess. Like...fantasy. But not that geeky fantasy? I guess fantasy thats sort of realistic?"

Way to be confusing.

"Um, I like Neil Gaiman. And, uh...Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea."

He didnt admit that sort of thing often. It made him look bookish and geeky.

"Thats...I mean. sure. But you don't have to," he reassured him.

"Don't worry about it. Books are my thing. It'll be fun." He smiles. "I kind of have to go, though. I want to visit a friend before the night is over."
