This wasn’t right, the sound of rustling paper, the bright sun light shining on her face. This was definitely strange. Elizabeth opened her eyes and found herself looking at bookshelf, and not just your ordinary bookshelf, but a large over stuffed one like you’d find in a library.
The window beside it had no curtain or blind and let the sun seep in and heat her face and hurt her eyes as she tried to wake up. Lifting her head from the table and sitting back in the chair Elizabeth looked around. More bookshelves, tables and chairs and other objects that confirmed she was in fact in a library.
This was very strange; the last thing she remembered was being in her office. Her office, at the end of a walkway in an advanced city three million light-years from Earth, she could remember talking to John Sheppard about tomorrow’s offworld trip and then opening the email Rodney had sent her. Another long droning email about how they could benefit from keeping all three Zero Point Modules to power the city instead of sending two back home.
She hadn’t even been tired, mind you, she’d never really gone to bed early so she had gotten used to long days and short nights. She knew she hadn’t moved, hadn’t even turned off her computer and yet here she was in a library.
Elizabeth turned again and looked out the window, there was a whole street out there and people were wondering along it, buildings spanned the horizon instead of the towers of Atlantis. She had to take a deep breath to stave off the panic that was rising... where was she?
