This was just lovely, thank you so much Secret Valentine! I think you captured their relationship perfectly -- and Seth was just exactly as much of a conniving douchebag as he is in canon, which was wonderful. 8D

Most of all, I loved that nostalgic moment where Pickles recalls the things they used to do together as kids... and you get that sense that maybe deep down he actually does kinda love Seth -- as much as he may hate to admit it. Plus the idea of them together against their parents (even if they did favor Seth) just makes me really happy.

I smiled a lot while reading this fic. Thank you!

I'm glad you liked it! I rewatched all of Seth's episodes several times to write for this, and I've developed a greater appreciation for him as a character because of it. It gave me a chance to write for Amber, too, who's also grown on me and has a lot of potential, IMO.

The nostalgic bits were drawn partially from my own childhood, which was a little weird just because of the fic's context, haha.

yay! i'm glad you're happy. :D and the research really paid off -- i thought your seth voice was spot-on. i hope 'developing a greater appreciation for him' means you'll be writing more of this asshole in the future?

i forgot to say, too, that one of my favorite parts was that "shit-eating, lopsided grin" of seth's. i find seth's smile incredibly sexy; plus, i love that he and pickles both kinda have that lopsided thing going.

also, what's really incredible is that i was actually thinking of a fic prompt where seth calls up pickles with the intent of bating him into something sexual and then blackmailing him ...but i thought of this after H&G sign-ups had already closed! it's like, how did you know?

Man, thank you so much! That means a lot to me. He's fun to write for and I do have several fics in the works for him, and for Pickles' family & in-laws in general. I tried to make sure I could picture him saying his lines, to keep his mannerisms intact, etc so it's great to know that came through the way I hoped.

I toyed with several of your fic prompts, and even considered doing Murderface/Skwisgaar or Charles/Pickles, but ultimately I felt like Pickles/Seth was the way to go. The "playing gay chicken via phone" seemed like it'd be a fun challenge and I'm proud of how it turned out. Again, I'm so happy you enjoyed this. I can't wait for the big reveal so I can crosspost it and discuss it openly.
