ok, i admit it, i haven't read this fic yet (one of us mods has read it, of course... i'm just not that mod). >_>
but! that one line, in itself? is absolutely perfect, i agree.
it also -- i must admit -- reminds me very much of my recent post. (which makes it that much more awesome, for being included in an s/t story.)

I enjoyed this tremendously. First, bringing out Skwisgaar's feelings under such circumstances came off very real. From the initial dismissiveness/indifference toward her to the progression of it getting to him, bringing out that side of Skwisgaar can be trick, but you really nailed it.
And Toki. ♥ Being as understanding as he was, he was just a joy throughout this whole story. I love that he took some initiative, on top of being tolerant of Skwisgaar being... well, Skwisgaar. xD
I especially appreciate how the dynamic transitioned through this story. Not too rushed, not too dragged on, no questionable moments. It was just right. It ran seamlessly, really sold it. And I love that so damn much.
I'm going to have to second the_ginga about the burning shit line. xD Perfect ( ... )

I couldn't stop laughing after He, on the other hand, almost had a heart attack. "Whoa, shits! Where does you guys comes from?!"
"Uh, America," Nathan explained, less than helpfully. "This morning. You look like shit."
Then it kept coming until the very end of it. Good read

I cannot start pointing out lines, because there are too many. This is written perfectly. Every line is exactly how it should be, and so is the next one. There is nothing -nothing- about it that doesn't fit or make sense. The fun, and the grief, and this strange, tormenting distance that fights to become closeness.. it's heart-breaking. The characters are walking on a mine field that is their life; future and past. They cannot be saved, and this made me enjoy this story just as much as I must loathe it.. because really, it left me so upset!!
Don't get me wrong. I haven't read anything like this on here, ever. I probably never will. thank you
