Dragon and Faramir in the park (re-timed to Monday afternoon, OTA)

Glaurnaneth and Faramir can be found together in the park. The Dragon is probably more noticable, as she is in her Draconic form - 200' long, with an equally massive wingspan, though those are folded against her back at the moment - curled up in the grass ( Read more... )

I am reading aloud from a book that I plan to read for my class at school. It was on a list of recommended books and caught my eye with the beautiful images. Then I read what it was about and knew I would want to read it to my class--the snow leopard of the title sang the stars into existence. That is so like the Valar, and Elbereth specifically, that it reminds me of home. Though it is not long I think Glaurnaneth can appreciate it too because the leopard was once human and the boy in the story becomes a leopard himself.

I suppose we must look a sight with me just sitting here holding a children's book with a dragon around me.

I have not read "The Snow Leopard" and don't have a copy, so I can't quote.

The Dragon's mouth in this form cannot smile, but her pleasure sounds through her voice.

"That is a wonderful tale, my love," she rumbles.

"I think so too." I thought it might be from the description. "I hope my class will enjoy it. It is more... I don't know. Though it's a magical tale it seems more real than most of the other children's books."

Not as silly. As for the magic, that is not at all ridiculous to me.

"Sometimes I think what Glaurmir might have been like if he'd ever been like a human boy, if he would have enjoyed this too." I laugh slightly. "Then again, he may well enjoy it just as he is."

"I think he would. I believe he will head for the closest library of Minas Tirith as soon as the war is over and never leave."

Just a month or two ago the thought of her son preferring human company over hers would have driven her to distraction. Now there's a tiny thought beginning to grow in her mind that she could - and maybe would? - join him in choosing to live amongst Men.
