Dinner Party (Timed to 7pm, closed to those who were invited)

Apr 05, 2014 13:48

It was nearly seven, Hannibal had just finished setting the table for his guests. The appetizer salad was sitting at each place setting with all of the appropriate silverware, napkin, and wine glasses. He had a variety of bottles prepared for this evening, four were specifically paired with each dish for any of his guests that enjoyed wine. He ( Read more... )

I hope that I am appropriately dressed for this strange occasion. Sometimes I don't know what to do for the village gatherings and I can't even really ask about this one.

I am careful to arrive at seven and not before.

Unsure if he's inside or outside waiting.

The Dragon arrives with Faramir, in a simple black dress. Her feet have natural high heels, and her tail is wrapped around Faramir's waist.

A little socially anxious, she is.

Hannibal's door happened to be open as a few guests walked into his room. He smiles at the couple and motions for them to come in. "Good evening. Please come in. Would either of you be interested in a glass of wine?"

I smile at Glaurnaneth's choice of clothing, knowing that it is appropriate. I can only wonder if she asked for help.

"I would like a glass of wine, thank you. My lady Glaurnaneth?"

Lecter-Faramir-Glaurnaneth?

She had, indeed. Her first adventure with clothes shopping for more than 'something easy to put on' went rather well, by talking to the sales staff.

She sniffs slightly at the complex scents wafting from the food in the room, her head tilted slightly. If potatoes were good... this will be absolutely stunning, her senses tell her.

"Yes, please," she nods distractedly.

Hannibal nodded as he poured a glass for both of them. He noticed the extra appendage on the woman that was wrapped around the man. He served the lady first and then the gentleman. "For you Glaurnaneth and for you sir. I apologize for not catching your name earlier." Hannibal said as he passed the second wine glass to the gentleman.

Dr. Lecter has noticed that Glaurnaneth is... well... somewhat attached to me. I would be a little upset by it except that I know this has to be stressful for her.

"Thank you," I say in response to being given wine.

"Pardon me, I was impolite enough to forget to give it. I am Faramir from room 150." I smile somewhat sheepishly. "Properly, Captain Lord Faramir, son of Denethor, from Gondor."

If I'm going to be polite, I should be fully polite and not by halves.

"Thank you," she says as well. She looks directly at Dr. Lecter and compliments him, "Your cooking smells wonderful."

Dragons' senses tend to be more acute than normal humans'.

Hannibal gives a partial bow to the lord. "It is a pleasure to meet a Lord. It has been quite some time since I have had an honor such as this."

At the comment about his cooking he smiled as he stood a bit taller with pride. "Thank you, I devoted a few years of my youth to mastering how to cook. I found a passion for French cuisine and have not stopped cooking my own food since."

"We are all equals here in the village, and it's a title I was born with." I do not feel as honoured to bear it as I do the rank of captain, which I earned.

"I know little of French cuisine but am very curious. Several people I have known here in the village were French." Including Sophie. "I have even learned a little of the French language."

I cannot help the smile.

"So I am not the only man who cooks. I am sure my skill is not so great as yours, though it has improved." The cooking captain, and won't my father be proud.

Well, some are more equal than others. Dragons, for instance.

"Before coming to the village, I only very rarely had cooked food," Glaurnaneth comments.

hannibal nodded with a casual smile. "I find cooking to be relaxing."

At the woman's comment he motioned towards the table. "I find sushi to be quite enjoyable as well." It was an assumption that this woman was referring to raw fish.

I chuckle slightly.

"I'm afraid that I do not share an appreciation for sushi. I understand the concept better than when I first heard of it and have tried it more than once, but I prefer my fish cooked." Let him think ill of me for that, perhaps, but it is the truth.

I'm not sure what to say about Glaurnaneth. It should be obvious because of her tail that she is not human. I suppose I should let her speak for herself.

"Fish when I had to... but I preferred wolf or bear. Maybe a sheep when I could get one..." she says.

But now her favorite food is potatoes.

Hannibal was nodded when Faramir expressed his preference of cooked meat. Enjoyment of sushi took time to develop. When Glaurnaneth mentioned wolf and bear Hannibal looked interested. "Those are exotic meats. I have not heard of very many eating that meat raw."

"We do not eat them in Gondor, but Glaurnaneth has lived in different places." We have not truly spoken of them, which perhaps we should.
