christmas blues

Juliet tries, she does, to get into the holiday spirit. But this is the second holiday seasons she's had without her husband. It's Jonah's first Christmas, and even though she's showering him with presents, it's something that James is missing. He's missing the baby's befuddled looks and love of the noise the wrapping paper makes, and there's no one there to take pictures. All that it does is leave her with an ache when it's all said and done, and she doesn't really have anyone to turn too. Her friends, all of them, are celebrating Christmas with their husbands. Their happy, whole families, and all that she can do is put the baby to bed and sit alone in the dark, drinking rum out of a coffee mug and staring at the Christmas tree fade in and out of color.

She sends random obligatory 'Merry Christmas' messages to her friends, trying to give out some kind of vibe that everything is just fine because she doesn't want to come off as pathetic. She's jealous of the intact families her friends have, but too prideful to ask if she can impose anywhere.

(ooc: I have no idea who could tag this, it just needed to get out. But if you think you have a pup who would drop in on Juliet, feel free to tag.)
