Imagine Adam's supreme joy when he found his shoe in his room! Hurrah!! And after that, he'd done some drinking, some exfoliating and more drinking

The bright clothing draws my eye and for just one moment... No, I'm not wrong and that is a man. It's certainly not Draco in his attire as a female and I'm put in mind of Adam.* It has been a long time and I hope I'm not staring.
*Faramir knew the Adam/Felicia that was in the village before. He attended the wedding of Adam to a man named Calum, even. Different actor playing the role, but the style... the fabulous comes through.
Oh, he is. And oh, that's just fine to Felecia. She'll never turn down the attentions of a good-looking man. Cue the swivel and turn, head back. "Hello."
"Adam, is that you?" He went by a different name when he dressed as a woman, but I was accustomed to calling him Adam when I knew him. This is not necessarily the same man, even if it is.
The village is so confusing, and it's not even recognising someone dressed so colourfully that's strange. It is wondering if he has returned or if it's even the same person. It is a bit difficult to tell underneath it all.
Both of Felecia's (well, Adam's really, yes) eyebrows disappeared up under her wig. She batted her false eyelashes a moment and said, "Do I know you?" Which she didn't ... or did she? Some incidents were, well, a bit muddled.
"Three days ago, but who's counting," Felecia rattled off, thrown, hand over her heart. "I - You say I've been here before. I can assure you, darling, that I have not. I would remember this, trust me."
I have to smile. He hasn't been here before, yet he has.
"Having been here only three days, this will sound even worse. You were not here before, but I've met a different you--I do not even know how to explain that. People come here and go, and sometimes return. Sometimes a person returns with no memory of this place." However that happens. "I met a different you before."
Only three days here and having to learn this?
"I smile because I was friendly with the version of Adam I met. Indeed, how could I not remember?" Look at the way he's dressed. "There are people who can be forgotten, but you are not one of them."
"Oh. Well." Never let it be said that Felecia turned down a compliment (it overrode the insanity of the rest of what was being said, you see). She even sidled closer, hand coming to rest on Faramir's arm. "Faramir, you say your name is? And just how friendly were we, mmm?"
"I did. Not you, of course. But the other Adam I met found someone here who obviously did consider you in such a fashion." I suppose I should ask.
"I was accustomed to calling him Adam, is that what you prefer? He went by another name when he dressed as a lady." Felicia. "It is odd to meet someone you've known before and have them be different. But I would not presume that you are exactly the same."
Felecia's hand fluttered in the air between them before fingertips settled on her collarbones. Married. She wanted to laugh like a drain and cry all at once. "Felecia like this, darling, ta. You say it's strange, but I think I've topped you. I don't see how you can know me when I've never been here before!" So, there was a slight tinge of hysteria in Felecia's tone at the last there. Whoops.
"You haven't been here before. I do not know how to explain that I've met a different you." I don't know what to say. "There is science, but I don't understand it. It's like magic to me."
Dressed like a woman, but still a man.
"This might go better if you have a drink. Would you like one?" I smile slightly. "It can help."
"God yes!" There came Felecia's rattletap laugh. "Please!" She went to lay her hand on Faramir's arm again but stopped herself, hand on her hip instead. "If there's one thing I've discovered, it's that the drinks here are very alcoholic, thank God!"
"They are, and that can help quite a lot." Coming or going. "I've been drunk here in the village more times than in all the rest of my life, but it's medicinal."
That is not just a convenient lie--it's sadly true at times.
"Which place do you prefer? If you wish to get extremely intoxicated, I suggest the hotel." I have to shrug. "You don't have to go as far to return to your room that way. When I've needed to drink badly, I stay in my room for that."

"I'm not sure how to answer that, as mad as that sounds." I've not seen him here before, not in a long time. "I've met Adam... Felicia?"
This is not right.
"I'm not mad, but it will sound like it if you have not been very long in the village. When did you arrive, if you do not mind my asking?"
And I'm being rude.
"My name is Faramir. It is only fair, since I know yours. And polite."

"Well, and perhaps I should not say this because you are not the same person I knew, but we were friendly enough that I attended your wedding."
Thus I remove my arm, but not in an unkind way.
"I do not consider men in such a fashion." I do need to say that, lest there be unpleasant misunderstandings.

"I'm sorry, did you say wedding?" Felecia's smile was brittle, disbelieving. So Faramir wasn't gay; she could live with that. But married?!

He isn't the same, just very close.

It's safer.
