Frustration Sets In (ota)

A Bullmastif mixed breed and a red Husky padded up to the lake and began lapping up the water on the shore. A few yards away, their owner walked toward the lake as well. Kyla's left shoulder ached. While she had been out of the sling for a little over a week, she had missed two days of physio when she had changed or whatever had happened to her on the weekend. Apparently physio really helped. Still, she could move her arm in all directions and she was definitely getting better. All good signs.

She stopped when she got to the edge of the water and looked over the lake. Every time she tried to remember what happened over the weekend, her head started to ache. Things were blurry. Kyla remembered seeing Leoben. Or at least, she thought she remembered that part. It was hard to tell. If she did, she was sure it was sufficiently awkward.

Bending down, Kyla picked up a smooth rock. She held it for a moment in her palm, feeling the weight, before she tossed it at the lake. It skipped six times and then sunk to the bottom of the water. She hated the daze she felt and was frustrated by it. She exhaled softly.
