"You know you're talking to a police box, right?" Peter slowed to a stop a few feet away from the attractive woman, one had in his pocket and the other sipping on a coffee cup.

"I did actually," she stepped back with a sigh, pulling the door closed and locking it out of habit. "Of course what I also know is that it isn't an ordinary police box."

The fact she had a key and locked it didn't escape him as he took another sip, then gestured casually to the blue box with the occupied hand. "Well, considering it's about 50 years out of its timeline, I'd have to agree with you."

"More than that," she murmured looking at the box again - but how much more.

"I take it you're intimately acquainted with it." Considering her reaction to it.

"Eventually," but not this one she thought - not yet. "I used to be better at not letting my reactions show so plainly."

Peter smiled a little and shrugged casually. "I've been told I'm more observant than I should be." In his line of work, which had been conning people most of his life, you had to be.

"No such thing as too observant, if you ask me." Which he hadnt but oh well.

"Sometimes it can get you into trouble." He paused, then smiled, "Or get other people in trouble by proxy."

His smile turned into a wry grin. "Now if only I had been able to convince my mother of that when I was little."

Peter took another sip, then nodded at the blue box. "You know there's another one of those just like it a couple of blocks over. Maybe whoever it is you're looking for is in that one."

"No, I know the owner of that particular specimen," she smiled. "And our mother's sound very much alike."

"Most mothers tend to frown on what their children think of as fun, I think." Although his mother had the pleasure of also worrying about what it was her husband was doing have the time too.

"So you're looking for someone you don't know then?" That was interesting. His expression became a little playful. "How do you know you're not looking for me then?"

SHe gave him a long look, eyes looking deep into his and shook her head, "You're too young."

He chuckled softly. "I'm going to take that as a compliment."

"If you want it to be," she half shrugged. It hadn't been one, but it hadn't not been one.
