Sight the King - chapter 15
Summary: After Yuugi wakes up at the scene of a crime with blood on his hands and a voice in his head, there's only one thing he can do: Run.
YAY UPDATE! The wait was definitely worth it, as I am interested in law (although going into law? ...nah, don't think so) and this trial was quite professionally done. It's realistic and follows real procedures, and ooooh. <3 Sure, it's all depressing and stuff, having to read through the turmoil inside Yuugi and grief of other families, but that's also what makes this story so true.
Haha, I loved the comparisons of Hoshikage to a giraffe. As always, your descriptions are so accurately vivid; despite the tense atmosphere of this chapter I sometimes laughed at the way you described things.
Aah, Yami no Yuugi's guilt trip and their interaction... It was a girl? I thought all the victims of the Penalty Games were boys, unless this wasn't in the manga? *slightly confused* It could, also be the fact that I don't remember much from Season Zero...Also hurray for semi-family-reunion! Ooh, so that's why Yuugi's mother hates the justice system in Domino City
( ... )
I'm glad you thought so! And your assurance that the trial is - at least at this point - well done is a HUGE relief to me.
Huh? Nonononono. Souzouji Minoru? The given name wasn't ever listed in the manga so I just grabbed a generic male name [I'm told it's masculine, anyway], but Souzouji-kun is definitely in the early manga. [I don't think he was in the anime.] I think he was in the first volume, actually. Not the first issue, but maybe the second or third. Don't worry - he'll get explained.
There's also the fact that her husband got killed by Domino cops and no one got punished. That too.
Yuugi hasn't yet seen Anzu, so he's not really thinking about her, or what she said.
Anyway, I loved the way you're portraying the court/trial. Very realistic and well thought out! I was a bit worried at first that you'd gloss over it, but this is really well done! Not many people can write court dramas much less write them well! ♥
heh, whoops? I'm not doing it intentionally, you know...
I will admit that I was sorely, sorely tempted to gloss. [Still am, a bit, to be honest.] Of course, next chapter is the one with all the exciting court developments, so it would be a shame to gloss over that.
The girafee...lol omg that was funny. I'm glad that Yugis grandfather came <3 I can't wait to see Yugi up on the stand, i hope he is ok he seems so nervouse!
I can just imagine Yami looking through the deck during the trial... hes not crazy lol
