Hey, I've wanted to see if you ever made posts about Tootsie and Duckys siblings or anything like, my comp got a virus and I lost your bookmarked journal. Good news or bad news first? Hmmm, Ducky choked on a piece of food. I found her when I got off work, she looked normal and was still warm.. so, that was really hard. Tootsie is doing excellent, I found out as she aged she's a special needs rattie. She has cataracts in both eyes now, for a while it was just her right eye. She is completely blind now and just as hardcore and any of her other 6 rattie roommates. I do tend to hand her a treats were the others have to go get them on their own, I don't want her to miss out on stuff. It takes her no time to get to know the layout of the cage when I switch things up, I kinda put my hand around her while she walks to the new things so she can realize it's new before she heads there on her own.

The other ones my teacher spoke up for and both of them died. :/ It was so sad and I was heartbroken because these were my favorite little girls. The one something happened to in transport and the other one my teacher noticed she was tilted, took her to the vet and it was a "brain parasite" which I've never heard of.

I'm sad to hear about Ducky but! I'm glad to hear that even though Tootsie is special needs you still take very good care of her. =D We have had a lot of special needs rats and they're so amazing even with their disability. She's so cute and has grown up so nice. Your other babies are very cute as well. The boy babies we had from the other litter never found any homes so we still have them all. They're my mum's favorites and so they're spoiled to death. Haha.

I checked this in the morning and the pictures really made me smile. =)

Tootsie thanks you for the compliments, she is indeed a cutie. =P

I had never heard of brain parasites in rats either, I looked it up and apparently they can becoming infected from eatting cat feces ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/850556.stm )

I'd love to see pictures of your boys if you have some.
