Oh, very true. It's such a wonderful thing to know you can fight with true friends without making it into a bigger deal than it is. To know that it can be solved and they still accept you the way you are and egos are not getting in the way. I agree so much that I think I'll quote you in my own lj. :)
That's a poignant observation. I found that to be so true during the presidential election. I am an Obama supporter. Here in the red state of Oklahoma, so many people are firm Republicans and argued for McSame with such vigor and obnoxiousness. I was not at all comfortable with them as what I felt should be an exchange of ideas turned into nasty and ignorant remarks about Obama the terrorist, the black man, the democrat. I certainly wouldn't want to be anythng verging on friendship with any of those people.
I agree. I think the best friends that you can have are the ones who will challenge you and argue with you. I think it makes you a better person in the long run.
