It was so easy, wasn't it. She provided means, taking advantage of opportunity. Dean's safety provided motivation. Surely the act was justified. Wasn't it?
I love you for your thinky brain, but then hopefully you know that by now. *G* Love this, and really didn't expect the roses theme to be woven into it. One can never really tell when Kripke is deliberately being devious, and when the props department just has a thing for flowers. ;-)
Think I'd better save this one to mems. :-) Have a blast in the mountains, lady, and come home with lots of new clever things in your head. *HUGS!*
Thanks Erin. And I did have a blast! I think this was a best trip yet. The weather was misty in the mornings, warm midday, and chill at night, just right for the leaves to turn in the mountains. By day The Kimbo and I learned all about enameling - melting powdered glass on metal with a blowtorch almost as if it were sugar, watching the bubbles burble their way up through melting glass, burning away color oxides, making one color rise through another, heating copper until it glows white hot and melts away, sugar-coating and orange-peeling - basically playing with fire *g*.
By night, we holed up in our tent and watched Supernatural. *G* Okay.. so Supernatural bled into the daytime enameling activities. Kimbo has a thing for bright primary colors in the work she produced - ("Look, A! Red and Yellow!" "ACK! Danger! Danger!") :P

I'd never noticed how often roses show up - it's almost like it's intentional... Oddly, Sam doesn't bring roses to Jess's grave or to his mom's - does he? I seem to remember a mixed flower bouquet ... damn, now I'll have to go check.
Thsi was all very interesting. I must beg to differ with you on this point, though: The motivation is different between Jake and Sam, self-interest versus love for another
In fact, Jake was all ready to pull the trigger until YED promised him that his family - his mother and his brother, I believe - would not only be spared once Hell broke loose onto Earth, but that they would be treated like royalty. Just like Sam, Jake cared more about the fate of his family than his own fate.

Yeah, he didn't bring roses, in fact he mentioned that she thought they were lame, which is an interesting statement if roses do indeed signify hidden/secret things.

So, I think I would agree with what you say here... but only up to a point

Oh, very interesting! :) I like your interpretation about the confrontation in Casey!demon's basement being a reflection of Cold Oak for Sam. I have a feeling that we'll be seeing a lot more S1/S2 situations mirrored in S3.
Have you noticed, then, how often Sam has been surrounded by yellow roses/flowers in Season 3?Yes! I've been wondering about the appearance of the Damask floral design. The first time I recall seeing it was in AHBL-2 in dead!Sam's room (red and yellow on the walls and something more abstract but erm ... similar looking on the bed *shrugs*). Then we get it again in the first motel room scene in 3x01 *points to icon*. It pops up in 3x02 rather obnoxiously. And then it's again in the motel 3x04 (as is another yellow flowered bedspread and mirrors). The only break we get is 3x03 when the more traditional, less stylize S1/S2 flowers show up. Curiously, 3x03 is the least mytharc-centered episode of all of them

YES! Which really plucks at my attention and makes me wonder if there's something that will be revealed later.... or... well... not. :P

Huh. Didn't notice that. *g*
*much put-upon sigh* Guess I'll just have to go back and watch that episode, again. *applies back of wrist to brow* The sacrifices I must make. :P
I'm eager to get more S3 episodes under our belts to see what sort of dots can be connected (or not).
So'm I! *g* I spent the week re-watching Season 2 episodes, catching up a friend of mine and now I have all these partially formed ideas about flowers and colors (particularly green and orange). Hopefully I'll get my thoughts together enough to post them and see what observations they
