It's obvious that Yuu cares a lot about friendship but he also upholds principles of his own. The question is, what sort of action of his friends would cause even Yuu to give up on them?

That's a difficult question. Because he's someone who puts friendship (and family) above everything, he tends to believe in them no matter what.
While he has principles of his own and he tries to be objective when things happens, most of the times he just can't.
In Tohru's case he discovered he killed people, and even that he wanted to kill his own brother, but he still wanted to keep believing in him. In Keita's case, he had troubles dealing with him especially because Kazuki, someone else he cares for, got involved, but in the end he believed in him and in his change.
Overall, if one of the people he cares for do something bad, even if really bad, he'll be confused and possibly disappointed at first, but in the end, he'll try to find justifications for him. For Tohru it was "he's a kind person at heart, he's doing that to protect people etc. etc.", for Keita it was "he wasn't in himself".

It probably would take him a lot of bad actions with no possibility of redemption to make him lose faith in someone he cares for, and even then, ( ... )

Let's see... Yuu obviously likes Tohru a lot. Ever since they met in the Dark Hour and exchanged their point of views on the world, he was attracted to him and wanted to know the other more ( ... )

Actually, I think he'll be relieved if he does, because that means he has a persona and can defend himself, or even that there will be people to help him out if he needs help. Although he will probably be very ashfuishfuiashfia at a teacher being around XD

FINE, YOU GET YOUR 5 MINUTES.

Yuu thinks Junpei is like, the coolest dude ever. He really like him and kinda thinks of him as a role-model. Junpei is always hyper, he seems to just go with whatever he wants regardless of people judging him an idiot, and Yuu likes him for that.
He's also really funny so he just loves to be around him.

Luckily when Wednesday died he didn't know her so much, so the trauma was relatively small. At the time his thought got to Shotaro and all of her friends, and he felt terrible thinking on how they could have taken the news ( ... )
