Yep I've also heard of those ;)

My b/f actually has the UK DVDs of Catweazle (he bought them last year).

The entire series is available in Australia as well.

Funnily enough in one series Catweazle is actually after the Philosopher's Stone - bit of a Harry Potter thing there, hehe - perhaps J.K. watched the series ;)

It's very possible JK was influenced by it... just as I know she was definitely influenced by Enid Blyton (first time I read the first HP novel with my son - aged 7 at the time, now 13 - I thought to myself "how twee, Enid Blyton wrote SO much better than this!")

I might look around the the catweazle dvd's and introduce my son to them. GREAT series.

Thanks.

Hehe... I particularly liked the theme song ;)

You may need to shop around for the DVDs if you're the sort who likes the cheapest available price ;) So far from my findings it appears that JB Hi-Fi has the best deal, but Big W is most often cheaper.

Hey, I'm 24 and I used to watch Wurzel Gummige as a kid. Might have been re-runs, mind... And I never realised it was John Pertwee. Cool!
