Um... would people mind limiting the number of things they want to talk about? (in one entry) I'd prefer it if the whole comm did not become a 'list', where people list lots of things, without any details about it (or many details), things that they used to enjoy/still enjoy? Would people mind maybe talking about one or two per entry? (or having

If you wanted to make entries about any of those shows and movies, that'd be fine. Just please don't just 'list' if you can avoid it. Or at least don't list too many of them at once. :)

Oh and, blueraine posted fanfiction. I'm the only one who commented on it. It's like that for lots of fanfiction on this comm... *sigh*. I don't really want the attitude of 'waiting around for other people who have stuff in common with me' to be the only attitude. Giving new things a try is part of it too, I think. Like how I posted up a clip and I doubt anyone even looked a t it... because they hadn't heard of the show it was from. That was the point. To try and get them to look at it...

I like it being about things that you think are worth checking out that someone else may not have heard of or might not know much about. The trend towards "remember this old show on Nick/Disney" is more of a nostalgia thing than a "here's an unsusual thing I know about and why you should watch/read it too." You could do the same thing at a party with your old friends from high school. Not that people shoudn't talk about things that used to be on those channels at all, of course. But I agree that there should be some variety instead of all/mostly "do you remember", especially if it's a show that was fairly popular at the time. Yeah..

If a show is IMPORTANT to you, and you'd like to do a 'do you remember' with it, then, I have no problem with that at all. Like if you're still a fan of it. Or an occasional 'hey, i used to love this show as a kid' post. Fine by me. But when it's almost every single post, and it's a big list of stuff without any details or questions or conversation...I get concerned for the comm.
It's nice that even new members 'get' what my 'problem' with this is. It's not a comm to list all your memories for 'no reason' really.
I did say 'nostalgia is fun' in the info section, but I meant like... nostalgia about shows that you REALLY liked, and further than 'do you remember' where the only real answer is 'yes' or 'no'.
