Does anyone remember Punter to Punter a radio comedy that used to run on Melbourne public station 3RRR during the 80s?

Oooooh, now I'm showing my age. ;)
I remember the show, but was never an obsessive sports fan - though Pickhaver's utterly unique voice can never leave my mind.
I was more of a late-night/graveyard shift listener and tended to hear the morning/lunchtime/afternoon shows by accident due to my inherent vampirism!

Oh, God no, I'm no sports fan either. But the fact was that the horse-racing stuff was really just a kind of front, anyway. I think Dr. Turf was the only real horse-racing enthusiast on it.

Growing up in Geelong, it was such a godsend when RRR's transmitter was finally powerful enough to reach us. Suddenly I could listen to the Birthday Party on the radio! A whole new world was opened up!

An autographed PTPT (Punter to Punter tshirt) was my most valued possession, c1982. I've still got some of their flyers (including a Fred Negro-penned one) filed away somewhere, too.

The thought of Red Simons opening his show with "Shivers", letting it run til the line "I've been contemplating suicide..",then opening the mike and screaming, "Do it! Do it!" makes me wish I'd been a little bit older and twiddled the frequency dial a bit. ;)

I've got some dusty tapes of things like The Cheese Shop and Rack Your Brains I really should dig out and listen to. Ahh memory lane.... :D
